  1. Hi, Last week I had my medical appointment and my (hopefully) final visa interview is next week. I had to go to the US embassy after the medical for a "document review", where they sealed all my documents (except my passport) in a transparent folder and told me to bring this with my passport to the interview. My current passport is expiring in 8 months and I'm wondering if I can get a new passport now before the interview and have them put the visa in the new one, since it'll have a different passport number than I used in the entire application process. Thank you
  2. We also got documentarily qualified today. We submitted the AOS and civil documents on April 18, only took 10 days for approval! I have one concern though, the email from the NVC says not to give up employment until you have received your visa. I assume this is only to ensure you have enough earnings to meet the threshold for the AOS? My wife is over the threshold without my income, I did not even submit any income information, so I assume it's fine for me to submit my resignation?
  3. We finally got our approval today, too. Yesterday they sent a text message saying they have taken action on our case. The USCIS website changed to say the case is being actively reviewed on March 13, and today it changed to approved. Congratulations to everyone else who got approved, and best of luck to those still waiting.
  4. We filed for CR-1 but at this rate we will be married for 2 years before the interview at the embassy, qualifying us for IR-1. Does anyone know what the process is in this case? Do they switch it over automatically?
  5. Before the USCIS website update our case estimate simply said it's "taking longer than expected". After the update, it went from 13 months to 12 months to now 8 months. Can't say I'm a fan of the new system
  6. Our VJ estimated approval time started in late November but has been moving further and further along and is in late January now, I assume this is just due to other users not reporting their updates on the site. Our case estimate on USCIS has been steadily decreasing from 5 months down to 3 weeks. All we can do is keep waiting and hope that the USCIS estimate is more accurate.
  7. Hello, We submitted the I-130 form online on November 25 2023 and received the Receipt Notice.pdf online on the same day. The pdf says Nebraska service center so I assume this is our NOA1? We haven't received anything at all in the mail. Our "myProgress" started low (I think 3 months) and decreased slowly. On January 2 2024 our case status updated to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" and the estimate still said 2 months. Somewhere in February it updated to 1 month, and a few days later it said 2 weeks. In March it then said it is "taking longer than expected" but was stuck on 2 weeks. In April it updated to 6 months, and now in May it has decreased to 5 months again. Best of luck to anyone else waiting to be with their loved ones.
