Delay … we sent too much?
nullaccount replied to nullaccount's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
I think the problem is I can’t travel as I don’t have the money since I’m saving for the wedding and I am miserable in my job and can’t change it so I’m more just wanting it to hurry up so I can be happy with my fiancé but I totally see what you mean. last year was better because I had the means to travel more and treat myself but not now. So I feel a bit like I’m in Groundhog Day. im actually very much looking forward to not working for a bit, exploring my passions and seeing more of the states with my fiancé when we are finally visa in hand 😊 it’ll be a totally new life with the love of my life so I’m just getting impatient I guess since I hate my situating here rn. -
Delay … we sent too much?
nullaccount replied to nullaccount's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Multiple people on the discord server and on reddit too said that if you try to get a tourist visa or apply to renew your esta with a pending k-1 they will deny it! -
Delay … we sent too much?
nullaccount replied to nullaccount's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
My esta runs out in February 2025 too (won’t be able to renew with a k-1 in process I’ve been told) and my fiancé can’t afford the time off in the US to visit me so I really really hope it comes through by then atleast … -
Delay … we sent too much?
nullaccount replied to nullaccount's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
thank you so much. i am hugely overthinking and as my fiancé says “too many variables” to even contemplate what’s happening with our case. I guess like everyone else here I just want to live my new life and hope and pray it all aligns to the timeline that works for us 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 really praying I can move in September that would be perfect. Surely if the universe is kind that will happen. -
Delay … we sent too much?
nullaccount replied to nullaccount's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
This isn’t necessarily true. Track My Visa Now shows that 59% of August cases have already been processed and they have just started on September. I’ve heard USCIS only have a 14 month average so you can’t complain too early on why your case hasn’t processed. So we are here wondering why we didn’t make it as one of the cases in their main focus. We wonder why we might get left behind and wondered if sending too much was the reason. -
Hello all, Looking for encouragement rather than a lecture because it’s too late now. My fiancé and I think we might be getting left behind. More than half of August cases have been filed now and we just have a bad feeling. We are wondering if we perhaps sent too much. Could a petition take longer because you sent too much evidence? Every source and YouTube video told us to send everything we could so we wanted to make sure we did enough and now I’m thinking we made a big mistake. But hopefully just overthinking it. We sent everything required and our evidence was the following: 1 side of A4 letters of intent for petitioner and beneficiary A booklet of proof of our three meetings in person including: many photos with captions, boarding passes, confirmation of buying tickets, hotel confirmations, receipts for meals we had, text conversations we had with each other, texts with family, receipts for gifts bought for my family, bank statements to prove transactions in each others countries. A booklet of further proof of intent to marry including: engagement photos, text conversations, Instagram conversations, texts with family and friends making plans for the engagement, congratulations texts, engagement cards A booklet of proof of ongoing long distance relationship: a few text screen shots from each month we were talking (October-August), same with Instagram, posts we have done on Facebook and Instagram of each other to show social media acknowledgement of relationship, gifts we have sent to each other, screenshots of our paired app, text conversations with each others family and friends. we thought it was really comprehensive and would show that we were in an honest relationship and engaged therefore free to marry. Now we worry maybe no one wants to look through our petition because there is too much.. please just tell us we are being dumb and overthinking.

nullaccount replied to Tim and San's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

I guess there's not many august filers here. Anyone else just losing hope? 50% of cases done now and no approval for me yet... I just knew this would happen. We did everything right and yet this is how God treats us. Just really down.- 71 replies

Ah okay. Well since no one is allowed to earn money or continue employment in any way, shape or form when entering on a K-1 visa anyway (since that's illegal) I'll definitely be quitting. Then I guess I'll put my savings down on the I-134 since I have enough to last a year due to varying timelines for EAD. I did hear somewhere that if the petitioner is sponsoring with assests only it needs to be around 100k. I didn't know they only look for enough money for 90 days if you self-sponsor as the beneficiary (had no idea you could self sponsor), never heard that anywhere but it's promising for those of us who have no co sponsor opportunity if our fiances get laid off!
-
Really? I have not heard of this before! Can I just get this clarified since we are particularly panicked about the state of the layoffs over there right now so anything could happen! So you are saying proof of my income (currently double the poverty amount but obviously will have to give up job before leaving) and savings (currently 125% of the poverty amount for two people) would suffice as a self sponsor for a k-1 incase my fiancé lost their job suddenly? I’m guessing in this current climate it would be beneficial to state my assets and income on the affidavit of support then?

I’m genuinely so nervous about this part. I hope none of us get left behind. We have not had a straight forward journey so far so we hope we aren’t left in a pile collecting dust somewhere (we got multiple document returned status updates and stuck in an admin loop but were told we’d still be processed 😞) Would love to be approved in March that would be the most perfect time especially for my work and apartment.- 71 replies

If you don't hear anything after 30 days you can email the lockbox. We heard nothing well past 30 days. My fiance and I did this and got confirmation they had received it, gave us our case number and then sent a new copy of the NOA1. Unfortunately the original copy of the NOA1 got sent back and gave us a document returned status but your case still processes if you get that so don't worry!
-
We accidentally sent a copy of my short form birth certificate and passport page too so I don't think you need to worry! We just thought sending more was better. Your fiance will need her long form birth certificate for this interview just fyi. Not sure why they decided to send it back to you - perhaps they thought it was an original. We are august filers and they haven't sent anything back to us. Actually have never heard of them doing that!

Help Needed Please! Case frozen?
nullaccount replied to nullaccount's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Yeah we have been told to keep this email in case they don’t process our case and it’s destroyed because essentially they have told us in the email we don’t have to do anything despite our case status telling us we do… but everytime we try it just causes issues so we give up! -

This is what case tracker says on the attached image! but if we do the e-request we just get the same status update so we just don’t want to do it anymore since we already have 2 copies of the receipt number through the post. -

yes all other mail received fine (including 2 copies of the NOA1) no other mailing addresses were given -
Could someone help me decipher this? We were on a waitlist for a tier two officer and unfortunately they sent an email instead and we are not satisfied with the response. We had 3 “Document returned” status updates in January alone. The last time we filled out an e-request form was beginning of January (so we are confused about why they are referencing the first attempt to retrieve the document and not the latest attempt) AND they still haven’t told us that our petition will be processed despite having an undeliverable document there. That’s all we want to know. That we don’t have to request that document again and we can just leave it there and still be processed even though it says they will destroy our petition by July if we don’t take action. We also don’t even have a “my inbox” on our USCIS account so that’s a load of rubbish. We just don’t trust this email… Advice please? Should we call again or just leave it and if we haven’t heard anything by july just do an erequest again? We are August filers so we should hear back in the next two months
-
Quick question: As some of you know, we are in an admin loop of a nightmare and we have had a lightbulb moment and wondered what everyone’s thoughts were. Is it possible if the lockbox entered our address wrong (all speculative based on a NOA1 document returned) that the California office might have the wrong address on file eventhough we have since given USCIS our correct address over the phone and through e-request for returned documents? I’m thinking perhaps those actions don’t automatically update an incorrect address on their database and the only way to do that is to “update our address” officially? This would explain why we can receive “copies” of documents from USCIS but the original one (and seemingly now copies direct from California office since we now have 3 document returned statuses in the first three weeks of January) keeps getting returned each time?

I think we do have similar situations because as far as we know it's only the original copy floating around still however we got 3 'document returned' statuses. We did not request that many documents! We are unconvinced there are multiple documents being returned and sent but I suppose that's why we have to call to figure out what's actually happening haha! I hope we both get it sorted soon!
-
Just from my own experience this is what we were told the first three times we called and we ended up with multiple 'Document Returned' statuses on our account because the mail keeps being sent back (it takes just over a month for post to be sent out and returned) so I would refrain from sending any more e-requests as it might be causing multiple NOA1s to be sent out and then returned which is only going to cause more issues for you account (this is exactly what's happened to us). My advice would be to pause, wait for a month and see if you get any more status updates and then call again next month and ask for a tier 2 officer. I can almost guarantee they did respond to your e-request but the post sent out is being returned. I have a post on here about my experience if you want to read it. Might help you! We are going to call second week of February and ask for a Tier 2 officer immediately so will keep you updated!
