  • Our Story
I met my beautiful partner on a free dating site (DateInAsia.com) and we connected from the very first thread chatting together. Things progressed to video chats almost immediately and the rest is history. I was searching for a whole two weeks before I met my dream woman.

  1. When you look at the CFO website, it mentions a police clearance but it does not state it is for the petitioner. I think this causes some confusion for them. What I did was just did an online background check so I can send her with that. They obviously checked our backgrounds front to back when we applied and without us having a clean record, there would be no CFO appointment. I think this is where a lot of the confusion comes from. I have seen on this site on a few other threads that one was needed lol. You would think if it is necessary it would say SOMEWHERE that its needed, USCIS, Dept of State website etc.
  2. Thank you. I really appreciate the reply. I don't know what they are confusing lol, but my background was pulled completely in the very beginning of the process.
  3. My Fiance is in a group of other filipina K1 beneficiaries and they are telling her I need to get a police certificate. It makes no sense to me as a full background check was ran in the very beginning. I figured I would ask the experts here what they think. Getting my record printed out requires an appointment, some money, and fingerprints. I would rather not do it if I do not need to. Thank You
  4. Attorneys are extremely expensive and in my situation it would have been a waste of resources to hire one for my K1 process. It seems like what they do is fill out forms for you and don't in any way speed up the long wait times. I am curious how others feel about this or what their personal experiences and outlook is on the subject.
  5. Anyone know when June 1st will be available? Everything after 5/28 is greyed out currently. It seems to be about a month out they will let you schedule but if I knew the specific time frame then I could be on top of it when my goal of 6/1 becomes available. We have already scheduled our Medical and I do not want to keep my fiancée in Manila for longer than necessary. Thank you in advance! This forum has been life changing for me going through this process and I am so grateful for all of you.
  6. My fiancee paid the MRV yesterday at the bank and we are getting a similar error that it is no recognized. The receipt she got from the bank says allow 4 hours before trying to schedule the appointment. After 12 hours it is still giving the same error and I am just assuming because things move slow in the Philippines that I need to give it a day or two. If I keep having the issue then I will probably use another method to try and schedule the interview.
  7. Aren't you able to do DS-160 now and schedule the interview and medical exam? I am assuming you have already done the DS-160 now that you have the case number. I haven't ran into any walls when it comes to the process after that. I am sending my fiancée in to pay the fee for the interview and trying to schedule it for the last week of May. So far I have been able to do all of our business on https://portal.ustraveldocs.com/ . I do not officially have the interview scheduled, but I am just waiting to pay the fee first. 9. Thank you guys so much for the valuable information. My public inquiry was answered in just 2 days, and I have my case number! I have been so lucky this whole process and I am truly blessed. I will be submitting my DS-160 and then trying to get the interview scheduled. It looks like the DS-160 will take a lot more time and information than any of the forms have so far.
  10. Thank you so much for this response. I am going to submit a public inquiry and cross my fingers. I have been monitoring other cases at the same point to see how long they took with the Philippines embassy, and I've seen anything from 2 weeks to 8 weeks here on VisaJourney. It really does seem to be about luck and timing.
  11. Mine only had my signature and it was approved with the I-129f about 6 months after filing. I do not think this is anything you need to worry about, so long as you signed the letter as the person writing it about your fiance.
  12. I have been having a difficult time finding this out. I also don't know if we get an e-mail notification, but it seems like sometimes we do? Anyone that has been through this with the Philippines and know what to expect? Thanks ahead of time.
