    Ok, I found the solution by myself. I realized that I have been setting things up wrong on the CEAC page. What I was doing was going into this page and selecting "nonimmigrant visa" and then putting in the other data and there was my mistake. I was actually supposed to leave everything as it appears (default selection should be "immigrant visa") as soon as I open the page and then just put in the case number and complete the CAPTCHA.

    Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum.The NVC sent our K1 petition to the consulate on July 18 (this year).We submitted the DS-160 on August 14 and received our case number the next day but have not heard back. We tried to pay the visa fee from https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ but after registering, it says our case is not ready yet. In order to schedule an interview appointment, we need to pay the fee but we cannot pay the fee if our case is not ready? I'm a little confused haha. Does anyone know if they notify you when the case is at the consulate?
