  1. Aloha, We received an RFE today regarding multiple filings. This is what they say the need - For this petition to be approved, USCIS would have to grant a waiver of the filing limitations described above. You must submit a written request for a waiver and explain why a waiver is appropriate in your case. You submitted a waiver request but you did not submit any/sufficient evidence to support your waiver request. The evidence should show that a favorable exercise of discretion to grant the waiver is warranted in your case and any unusual circumstances that exist (e.g. death or incapacity of the former beneficiary(ies)). I will attach my Request for Waiver that we included in our packet (doc file). Please give me ideas what else I can say/include. I'm lost. Bill 03 - Waiver request doc.doc
  2. Our NOA1 date was May 16. Since then nothing. Is it too soon to panic?? A friend of mine here says relax and it will come. But it's becoming increasingly difficult to do.
  3. This is interesting. I never knew such existed. I ended up with I think a Greek cooking show. How do you navigate?
  4. We'll see in a few days if some of the suggestions here work out. Her eyesight has deteriorated to the point she can't use her laptop. She had an eye exam today and will become Dina four-eyes (a rite of passage of aging). Once specc'ed, we can try things. I wish she a good enuf connection to use a VPN but I don't think that's realistic solution. Mahalo to (most) everyone who have offered suggestions. All we need is one that works.
  5. Wow.. If you want to hijack a thread, please ask 1st. I want her to see how screwed up things are. I want to leave the US and maybe go to Tahiti if Trump wins. I want her to see why I feel this. I'm looking for ways she can see all this garbage for herself. You suggest I hide it from her?? Whatever man.
  6. Not garbage like Facebook or Twitter. Real news like PBS for example.
  7. I'll have her try this when she wakes,.. Mahalo
  8. She watched the debate (PBS seemed to remove geo-blocking for that). She knows it's bad. I want her to know it's bad. If TFG wins, I want to relocate to Tahiti. I need her on my side
  9. Aloha, Dina wants to access US news so when she eventually (looking at you CSC) arrives, she'll have a feel for what she's getting into. Also would give her a chance to be exposed to more English. We are finding that all sites we try are geo-blocked (she was able to watch the debate on PBS however). They must have dropped blocking for that. Thinking about a VPN, but have concerns about the speed of her connection. Any suggestions? Bill and Dina
  10. I see that now. But as we're waiting on our NOA2, I don't see how it pertains to us.
  11. For the most part, we have been. When the Sunday email started saying "any day now", we began getting more amped.
  12. Aloha, Our NOA1 date is May 16. According to processing dates, CSC is processing applications with a NOA1 date of May 28th. Should this be a source of concern?? Bill and Dina
  13. Is running an ad-free pay-for-use VJ in parallel with this site possible?
  14. Thank you. I paid for AdBlock Plus and that helped some. The Google Ads are about the worst I've ever seen and they're popping up on more and more sites. How did Google get so deeply engrained in VJ?
  15. Is it considered safer than in the past?
  16. Forgive me for being slow. I have a cat of 15 years who is dying of kidney disease. My brain isn't working well now. I have given up on traveling outside the Philippines with Dina till she arrives. Sounds like too much risk and anxiety - neither of which I need now. Now I get more confused. Please strictly critique my assumptions here. Immediately after marriage, we file for AOS (I-485). This make take a year to process. Until approved, Dina cannot travel or work. To get around the wait, we can file an I-765 which will allow Dina to work and an I-131 which will allow Dina to travel. There is more to my question but am I understanding correctly thus far?
  17. The places I mentioned happen to have beaches (they're all islands). I am not looking for beaches per se. I am a 10 min walk from the beach. More than anything, I want to reconnect with Polynesia. Maui was Polynesia when I moved here. It's now more California. That all said, I feel the consensus is don't risk going elsewhere. We'll find a culturally different place to visit in the Philippines. As I understand, once she arrives, she needs to somehow apply for the ability to travel. Once she acquires whatever she acquires, do all these problems disappear??
