  1. Hello everyone, I have been trying to find an answer online for this but it seems so rare that I can’t. My fiancé and I sent a personal cheque payment with our petition to USCIS, we’ve received our NOA2 approval notice and are onto the Consulate portion, but I realized that USCIS never cashed our cheque payment for the USCIS filing fee. What should I do? I’m worried this may affect our petition approval with the consulate or furthering the application? Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you for any help or insight!
  2. Hello everyone, I am trying to find specific information for my upcoming K1 fiancé interview at the Montreal, Canada consulate. In Packet 4 it states “The day of your interview, please bring original and one copy of each of the following documents (as applicable)” and one item states “Birth Certificate (Petitioner and Beneficiary)”. I have my original birth certificate (beneficiary) and a copy, but I only have a copy of my US fiancés birth certificate. If anyone has had an interview recently or knows if I need his original and not just a copy, I’d really appreciate guidance! If he has to send me his in the mail it’s possible but I thought a copy was sufficient for his. Thank you!
  3. I’d like to remove my post but I guess you can’t on here 😅 Question is resolved and post closed.
  4. Yeah I noticed there aren’t a lot of places which is unfortunate if someone does not live in a major city, let alone for the medical exam in Quebec there is only 1 location it seems and it’s unfortunately downtown which is always a hassle to get to 😩
  5. I went to XL-ID Solutions Inc. in Montreal (on Henri Bourassa) and got my finger prints taken which were then sent to the RCMP by them and received my police report in the mail about 3 weeks later. I brought the paper with the packet information and showed the receptionist to make it easier, but it had to have the National Repository entire Holdings check.
  6. Just an FYI for you both if you have not seen it, when I logged in today there were appointments available for Montreal for August 15, 2023. I am not sure how many or how long it lasts, but it is up there as of 20 minutes ago! 🙂
  7. I explained how the interview appointments are done to my American fiancé and he was extremely unimpressed. We were also under the impression that we’d receive a date in the Packet 4, but this first come first serve based on luck of signing in at the right time is really ridiculous. It was heartbreaking after all the wait we’ve had, and I’m sure you and everyone else has had since submitting the original petition that this is the way to get an appointment for an interview for K1’s. Hopefully they release new appointments soon, but every time I check and there isn’t any it’s also disheartening but we all have to keep checking anyway. Here is hoping that we all get an interview appointment soon because clearly from what you received as a response they aren’t going to change the way this works for K1 visas.
  8. Thank you! I will definitely try that, I am new to the site and just trying to figure out where everything is. Thank you again 🙂
  9. Hello, I just was looking for some advice, or maybe clarification from anyone else going through this as well. Our fiancé visa application was approved by USCIS earlier this year, we are currently at the Packet 4 stage with the Consulate in Montreal, Canada. I logged into the website "Official U.S. Department of State Visa Appointment Service" and I got all the way to the MRV Fee Details/Payment page, but it won't allow me to go any further, and it is stating "There are no available appointments at this time. Please check back in a few days as the Consular Section will open more appointments". I have been checking for a few days now and no new openings. I am just wondering if I am going about this correctly, as well as is there maybe a better time/date to check for openings? Or is it really just luck of the draw at this point? Any help, or advice, or personal experiences would be super appreciated. Thank you so much!
