  1. that’s exactly what I did (and I suspect many others too!). Technically it’s a breach of the ticket but if you don’t show up for the return, how do they know you just haven’t missed it, are sick etc. I’ve never heard anyone having issues missing/skipping the return. If you’re really bothered avoid airlines you’re a frequent flier with and/or might use regularly but ultimately you won’t have any issues either way. I’ve done that 3 times in the last few years (2 out of my control when plans have changed/I’ve missed the return) and not had any issues at all or ever heard from the airline.
  2. Correction. I think the status changes to visa produced (or similar) after a couple of days. But that’s it
  3. You won’t get any more updates, other than from the courier telling you when they’re returning your passport. It’s generally surprisingly quick. Mine took less than 10 days, and that included a 3 day bank holiday weekend. Congrats. Almost there!
  4. Oh and I haven’t received my actual green card either! Paid my fee 2 wks before I entered but mine still just shows fee received. sounds like I have about as much luck as you!!!
  5. I entered on 26th Oct and waited just under 3 wks but mine didn’t come either. Went to local office and they confirmed it had never been produced. however they sorted it in about 20 mins there and I received it in the post about 9 days later. Not a big issue (although remember all your id etc and temp green card in passport)
  6. Does your partner have a phone/contract? You can often just add another line really easily to that plan and quickly too (we did that same day I arrived in the T-Mobile store)
  7. Ah ok. Thanks.
  8. Hi. How did it go? Were they positive about his case?
  9. It’s supposed to come automatically after you enter in about 10-14 days. However this is dependant on the entry agent clicking something correctly on their screen as they process you (apparently happens less than you’d hope…) Anyway I didn’t get mine after waiting 3 wks so went to my local SSN office and they processed it - I got it 8 days later
  10. Agreed. I was just highlighting its normally that kind of thing. Much more than just what qualification you hold
  11. If you ask, the moderators on here are very good/quick and will help I think
  12. Understood. I can see why you’re keen to explore every option. However as I say, it doesn’t sound like he qualifies for NIW though from what you say.
  13. Unfortunately that’s the answer to your question then I suspect. He would need that sponsor and the company has to prove why they need him over an American employee in order for him to get that
  14. Ok. He wouldn’t be eligible for the national interest waiver then I think he could try the regular EB2 but that’s longer and a slightly different set of requirements
  15. Does he work in the medical field (doctor, surgeon, OBGYN etc?) that’s normally the only professions that are approved for that visa. Just having a masters degree doesn’t make you eligible for that.
  16. I was a little later. Either 10 or 11, I forget. But either way it seemed they were taking around 10 people/hr from what I could see
  17. I wore jeans, polo and shoes and was probably on the smarter side of average there. 2 guys were in shorts (was a hot aug day though) no one seemed to bat an eyelid either way
  18. Hi i can’t say this is always the way but I was there in aug for mine and there was 3 people in the line! Seems to have definitely got a lot better than a few months back. I was actually amazed how quick it was. Whole thing took c2 hrs…and that included 1h30 sitting waiting inside to speak to the officer. I debated picking up passport after but in end paid for delivery. And worked super quick (4 days) and easily. Tbh I’d just pay for delivery if I were you. Can still change to that until day before.
  19. Hi - i can see how the confusion may occur so let me try and help make it a lot clearer for you: The 'U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse' is one person - i.e your husband. People can be married to either a USC or LPR, and therefore the line has to be written to cover both. When you are the immigrant then you are married to either a US citizen or a LPR - whichever status your husband has. Irrelevant of which they are, they are then known as the spouse. You are married to the spouse - (using their terminology/description). Therefore this is saying if you are the spouse (i.e. in your case, your husband, whichever of USC or LPR they are) they do NOT need to pay the biometrics now. However as you are not the spouse, you DO need to pay that biometrics fee. Does this help?
  20. There’s def a cut off and obv depends on volume and numbers etc, but we got DQ on about 18th of month from memory and got letter at the end of that month so I’d suspect anyone pre 15/16 prob ok. After that it might be luck of the draw if they’re busy or not
  21. Hi the letters tend to come out in a batch at the end of the month (usually 2-3 days before end) so I’d expect Friday this Wk or Monday next week. good luck!
  22. I took about 40 pages including copies of everything uploaded of my wife’s (passport, taxes etc) plus originals of all my docs (birth certificate, police, passport, etc). Plus copies of new pics of us and travel docs. I also took print out of the invitation to interview and approval. Plus passport pics. In the end I was asked for my originals of all above, and the confirmation emails for entry to building, but they didn’t even want to see anything from my wife. However as has been said, I’d rather have my file with it all than not.
  23. You cannot sponsor yourself, so that’s not an option. Your income is not counted, whatever the level. You will def need a sponsor. Foreign income (ie earned in U.K.) isn’t counted either so your wife cannot use that. Speak to your family member asap! You will def need them
  24. Email. Like all your other confirmations etc from the centre.
  25. 28th July. 3 days before end of month in line with what everyone else has said about letters. So I’d expect the aug ones (oct interviews) to go out on 29th aug I think
