  1. no. The photos are for use on your visa and green card. They just need to be right size and passport style (white background etc). No details on them
  2. I didn’t technically update anything. They just asked me when the last time I saw my wife was and last time I was in the US. I told him and it obv matched what was on his screen so all was good. Literally that was the total of the convo
  3. They don’t keep any originals at the medical in London. Will photocopy anything they need and hand back originals to you.
  4. I visited (a business trip) on ESTA whilst my interview was pending. Had no issues at all - no one even mentioned it (I did use global entry though, but this wouldn’t change anything/my entry status)
  5. This is what we did (obv without the blanked out names bit). Very similar to previously mentioned. I just put the photo into a word doc, wrote where when and who was in it, then saved as pdf. Did about 20 pics in total across the years we'd been together. All approved without issue. (hopefully the pic opens ok) photos.pdf
  6. short answer is yes you technically can. But be ready to explain how you can afford that and travel for such long periods. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were taken into secondary inspection
  7. It varies so much state to state. Your experience is the exact opposite to mine. I went last week to get my DL sorted (California) and the lady saw my temp i551 GC in passport (I actually have the card now anyway) and said do want the real ID too? That’s what I’d advise. so mine is being processed as real ID now, although I’d planned on using my GC as it anyway as mentioned above.
  8. this is definitely correct and the way it should work…however from my experience and others on here it sadly doesn’t always. If you’ve not received SSN after a while (suggest 3 wks), you can go to your local office and they process it for you. I had to do that - and it came about 9 days later so that’s your back up plan!
  9. that’s exactly what I did (and I suspect many others too!). Technically it’s a breach of the ticket but if you don’t show up for the return, how do they know you just haven’t missed it, are sick etc. I’ve never heard anyone having issues missing/skipping the return. If you’re really bothered avoid airlines you’re a frequent flier with and/or might use regularly but ultimately you won’t have any issues either way. I’ve done that 3 times in the last few years (2 out of my control when plans have changed/I’ve missed the return) and not had any issues at all or ever heard from the airline.
  10. Correction. I think the status changes to visa produced (or similar) after a couple of days. But that’s it
  11. You won’t get any more updates, other than from the courier telling you when they’re returning your passport. It’s generally surprisingly quick. Mine took less than 10 days, and that included a 3 day bank holiday weekend. Congrats. Almost there!
  12. Oh and I haven’t received my actual green card either! Paid my fee 2 wks before I entered but mine still just shows fee received. sounds like I have about as much luck as you!!!
  13. I entered on 26th Oct and waited just under 3 wks but mine didn’t come either. Went to local office and they confirmed it had never been produced. however they sorted it in about 20 mins there and I received it in the post about 9 days later. Not a big issue (although remember all your id etc and temp green card in passport)
  14. Does your partner have a phone/contract? You can often just add another line really easily to that plan and quickly too (we did that same day I arrived in the T-Mobile store)
  15. Hi. How did it go? Were they positive about his case?
  16. It’s supposed to come automatically after you enter in about 10-14 days. However this is dependant on the entry agent clicking something correctly on their screen as they process you (apparently happens less than you’d hope…) Anyway I didn’t get mine after waiting 3 wks so went to my local SSN office and they processed it - I got it 8 days later
  17. Agreed. I was just highlighting its normally that kind of thing. Much more than just what qualification you hold
  18. If you ask, the moderators on here are very good/quick and will help I think
  19. Understood. I can see why you’re keen to explore every option. However as I say, it doesn’t sound like he qualifies for NIW though from what you say.
  20. Unfortunately that’s the answer to your question then I suspect. He would need that sponsor and the company has to prove why they need him over an American employee in order for him to get that
  21. Ok. He wouldn’t be eligible for the national interest waiver then I think he could try the regular EB2 but that’s longer and a slightly different set of requirements
  22. Does he work in the medical field (doctor, surgeon, OBGYN etc?) that’s normally the only professions that are approved for that visa. Just having a masters degree doesn’t make you eligible for that.
  23. I was a little later. Either 10 or 11, I forget. But either way it seemed they were taking around 10 people/hr from what I could see
  24. I wore jeans, polo and shoes and was probably on the smarter side of average there. 2 guys were in shorts (was a hot aug day though) no one seemed to bat an eyelid either way
