    Yes, for some it may make sense to switch categories. You may be able to file sooner if you do switch to F1, but if you will get approved sooner is the unanswerable question.

    Finally, some more movement and that's awesome you are now current! Definitely keep us update and hopefully you have your interview soon. I wonder why they haven't moved the filing action date yet. There's only ~ 5 1/2 months between filing date and final action date now.

    Last year we didn't have significant movement until May Visa Bulletin. I wonder if that trend will continue...

    Another good indicator of bulletin moving more regularly would be if they move the filing date because that hasn't moved either in a long time. My medicals are going to expire in August and it would be really annoying to have to pay again for an updated medical.

    Jan 2025 bulletin is out. Slight final action date movement. May 1st 2016 ---> May 22nd 2016

    December Bulletin out and no movement. The most annoying fact is according to Charlie there will be an estimated 10,000-15,000 unused family visa numbers for fiscal year 2024.

    Sept Visa Bulletin is out, and it's bad news. No movement.

    August Bulletin is out. No movement for F2B. Statistics for May are also out. DR received 349 F2B visas.

    I would make it clear at the interview that she would like to remain as an F2B. I don't think a letter in addition is necessary, but at the same time it probably wouldn't hurt.

    Charlie is still predicting forward movement for all family categories. We will see if he's right in the next few bulletins.
