Oh okay, it wasn’t closed in October 2022. It was closed now that is why I got worried.

Yes it was back in Sept 2022, that is why it was moved to NVC. But they never closed the case until now.

Hello, I submitted an I-130 application for my husband in June 2020. It was escalated to the NVC and was accepted on September 17, 2022. We are currently awaiting an interview at the US Embassy in Beirut. I am a permanent resident with a green card and recently applied for US citizenship last week. The citizenship application is pending, and I haven't completed any biometric steps yet. However, I received a case update on my USCIS account indicating that my I-130 case has been closed. What does this closure mean? Should I be concerned given that we are waiting for our scheduled interview? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@Chancy, I dont know if I qualify for citizenship using the 4 years 1 day rule? I've had a green card since 2011, but we left the states in 2012 and didn't return until April 2019. Since then, I haven't left the country for more than 6 months. I came back for good in 2020 and began working in 2021. Some people told me I can apply for citizenship, some people says no its risky…

@Chancy, shouldn’t be based on each embassy? I know that usually the embassy inform NVC about the available spots they have for appt and the NVC send the files…

@Chancy, priority date on Immigrant Visa - Summary Information (state.gov) website is "30-JUN-2020" which you can see it below the interview location.

My husband received an approval email from the NVC on September 17, 2022, for the F21 visa class. As a green card holder, we are currently awaiting the scheduled interview. We contacted the NVC and the US embassy many times for an expedite request, but they didn't accept it in order to be fair to all applicants, and they're scheduling interviews in the order that the cases complete processing at the NVC. I'm wondering if there are any other green card holders here who got their approval after us and have already been scheduled for an interview. Thank you!
