  1. I have waited 12 months for the I-824 in Texas office - still no luck. I called USCIS and they are saying it will take another 3.5 months before I can inquire about my case. So, no - even though the website may say I-824 gets approved in 12 months at Texas center, some may take the maximum 15.5 months. Has anyone faced that situation? What is the processing time after I-824 gets approved? My understanding of reading through the forum and other sites is the original I-130 will move to NVC who will send me the Welcome packet with instructions to submit DS-260 and other financial support related documents. Then the documents get qualified to be shifted to the home country of the spouse (Bangladesh in my case). The US embassy in Bangladesh will then schedule the interview and then visa. I was trying to find a realistic timeframe for that entire process after I-824 is approved for a Bangladeshi spouse. If anyone can help with that, it would be greatly appreciated.
  2. How about applying for a tourist visa (B2)? Is that possible at this point of my overall application process?
  3. Is it worthy to file for K3 visa? It seems like it is possible for spouses to get K3 visa while they wait for I-130 and so forth. Unfortunately, I did not know about K3 and could have potentially filed it after receiving I-130 receipt number. How long would a K3 processing take place?
  4. Hi, I am a U.S. citizen. I applied for my wife through I-130 back in Feb 2022 after my wedding in Jan 2022. She is currently residing in Bangladesh. I received an approval notice for the I-130 in Dec 2022 but it stated that I need to file I-824 and USCIS is holding on to my I-130. I filed I-824 in Dec 2022. Based on the receipt letter for I-824, it is indicated that the file is in Texas. The Texas office's I-824 timeline was 12 months earlier this year and now it is at 14 months. I heard from someone the other day that even when my I-824 gets approved, the NVC may take a while in the U.S. to process and then once it goes to Bangladesh's U.S. embassy it may take another several months to get an interview. I was hoping if anyone can provide any suggestions what I can do to expedite the process. Thanks.
