  1. Yep no new certificate required. October 3, 2022 was the date of his original one. I'm fairly certain they are supposed to good for 2 years so I'm not sure why they are requesting a new one from you guys, other than just generally being unorganized on their end. But maybe because it's so close to the 2 year mark, by the time the visa is issued it could potentially be expired, so they requested a new one would be my best bet.
  2. Hey guys, my husband now has passport with Visa in hand! Here's an updated timeline for the tracker. IR1 Visa Interview April 27 2023 Passport Request July 11 2024 Documents received July 17 2024 Medical completed July 18 2024 Medical results sent to consulate July 27 2024 CEAC website says issued August 1 2024 Tracking number received August 8 2024 Passport received August 9 2024
  3. They also did not request a new police certificate from my husband (April 2023 interview)
  4. No we didn't touch the DS260 until requested to do so. They will ask you to update it when they email the passport request. My husband's was also reopened at the one year mark but that is typical.
  5. My husband's changed to expiring soon the day before we got the passport request.
  6. Here is a list of locations: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv/information/courier_dropboxes
  7. We used Canada Post, mailed from Toronto and they received it the next day.
  8. Hi guys, my husband's status shows issued as of this morning! We haven't received a tracking number yet but will do a full update and timeline once we have the passport in hand.
  9. My husband's interview was also in April 2023 and we just recently submitted the second medical but we did not have this issue. He did his medical on July 16 and the doctor's office just confirmed it was sent to the embassy on July 27th. However I do think @LYV recently had a similar issue.
  10. Scratch that I misread. When did you submit your passport? It seems like around 2 months is the current wait time between sending the passport and receiving it back.
  11. Congrats! Wow that's a long wait for your passport back. Does anyone know if that's the typical wait time after submitting documents?
  12. I had my senator contact them about 4 months into AP and he received a very specific response from Montreal stating that there is nothing they can do to intervene. The exact wording was along the lines of: no elected official may appear to influence a visa decision.
  13. No nothing at this point you need to do. When they are ready to proceed they will email you with instructions on what they require you to resubmit and/or update.
  14. Keep an eye on the updates next week. We did get that standard response as well when I sent them an email but as I mentioned before a few days later our unsolicited updates started. Fingers crossed, I hope you start to see some movement!
  15. Had to bring all the vaccine documentation, a copy of the full DS-260, passport, and list of medications. Also had to email a photo. And as for an update, medical was completed on Tuesday the 16th and passport was sent on the same day. Tracker shows the consulate received the package this morning. Will keep you all posted on when we receive the passport back.
  16. We were able to make an appointment in Toronto the same day we got the passport request. We used the same doctor as before and all they asked was for us to send them a copy of the email we received from the consulate for them to make the appointment. There is a list of other documentation they require us to bring to the appointment but we were able to book.
  17. Sadly no. It was one of the revelations that came to light in the Carson Wu declarations. The state department admitted that these cases are not processed on a first in first out basis. I can't find the link but it was posted on this forum a while back if you want to read the full thing. If you haven't emailed the consulate lately I would suggest doing so. I emailed them on May 31 and received a response on June 17 with the usual case update. I then received an unsolicited update on June 20 which "seems" to have been the start of the typical chain of unsolicited updates leading to the request that most people are experiencing. I don't know if that email did any good, but it can't hurt to give it a try!! Good luck, I hope you hear something soon.
  18. Hey guys, we just got the email to send passport and new medical! I'm really happy to see things moving along and best of luck to everyone for waiting. I do sincerely believe we'll start to see shorter wait times now for those of you interviewed later in 2023 and early 2024. IR1 Visa Interview April 27 2023 DS5535 submitted May 1 2023 Unsolicited updates June 20, July 9, July 10, and July 11 with the request. @Superluminal can you update the tracker please and hopefully you've received your email as well!
  19. We're not totally sure why this wording has changed recently but it seems to be a sign that a passport request is coming very soon. I believe several people on this forum who have recently received the request have also seen their status change to expiring soon before receiving an email to submit passport and new medical/police report. It's a little scary when you read it but seems to just be a glitch in the system. @Canucklehead commented about this a week or so ago if I remember correctly.
  20. Pattern so far for us has been unsolicited updates on June 20, July 9, and July 10.
  21. Another unsolicited update for us today and the case status changed to expiring soon. Feeling cautiously hopeful.
  22. Also got one today. I think we both interviewed on the same day as well.
