We had no issues at all. The border officer scanned our passports, asked about our destination, and then returned them to us. My kids already received their SS cards in the mail a week ago. Good luck!

No, because there were no issues during my medical exam. By the way, I have a history of latent TB, but the radiologist approved my X-ray.

Our visa is actually less than 6 months: issued 10-07-2024 and expiring 02-22-2025. I think the six months is from the medical exam. Here is my story today: After receiving a notice this morning that our passports had arrived at a Toronto postal office, I picked up a large package with our passports, small envelopes for each family member, and two big ones for myself. I arrived at the Niagara border crossing around 4:30 PM. The border officer took our passports and asked us to park and head to a nearby building. There were a few people ahead of us, but it took less than 20 minutes before an officer called us inside and collect our package. After about five minutes, we were asked to go to his desk for pictures and fingerprints. About 15 minutes later, he returned our passports with a stamp next to the visas printed in Montreal, explaining that this is our temporary green card that is valid for one year and it can be used to work and travel internationally until the actual card arrives. There were no major questions, just confirming our U.S. address and the type of visa I have. After that, I drove back to Toronto, looking forward to returning home this weekend to resume my work in the U.S after more than a month . Good luck to everyone!!

Same here! The status changed to "issued" this morning. My daughter emailed them last night, explaining that it’s urgent for her to receive her passport so she can return to university. They called her this morning, but she missed the call. Does anyone know how long it might take to actually receive the passports?

Congratulations, LiteV, and I want to apologize for my previous comments. Your story will undoubtedly assist others. Had I been aware of this possibility or received the refusal email earlier, I would have taken similar actions, as I've been working in the U.S. for the past six years and my daughter is in university there. The nearly month-long wait for our passports has already affected her school year, requiring her to drop several classes. Thankfully, I managed to arrange to work from home and still have a house in Toronto to stay in. Thank you

The same here! Interview September 6th, last updated October 1st, status always ready ….
-
As far as I understand, in our situation, it’s not possible to collect the passport in person after the interview. Whoever made wrote that should explain their reasoning. The Google Sheet serves as an important source of information for us and future users, so please ensure its accuracy and refrain from modifying it or changing others' information.

@Froozion, could you please provide some comments on your status/notes section in the Google Sheet? It looks like you’re the only one whose visa was issued today. Congratulations once again!

congratulations! Hope I will see the same soon.

For those of us who completed their interviews successfully in September, when do you think we can expect to receive our passports?

Same here. Still showing Ready!

My case was also updated this evening, but it still shows as READY. I'm not sure what's happening in the background. My interview was on September 6th and the previous update was on the 13th.

Waiting 10 business days from October 1st is the worst-case scenario for us, but there’s nothing we can do to change it. I’m still hoping we’ll receive our passports with the visas this week. This has been the longest time I’ve spent in Canada since moving south six years ago. It’s a beautiful country, but unfortunately, there’s still a lack of opportunities for professionals.

I’m in the same situation as you (Interview on Sep 6th). Why did the officer tell us we would receive our passports in 10 days if he knew we would be waiting until after October 1st? My circumstances are a bit different, as I need to return to work and my daughter needs to get back to her university classes.

Dear @Coco_2023, during your interview on September 24th, could you kindly remind the officer at the end to not forget to press the enter key in their system to update your status? Missing that step has caused confusion for many of us.
-
Same here! I had mine on September 6th and it was approved, but I haven't received any notice about visa availability. The officer told us it would take 10 days (assuming business days). Today marks the 10th day, and the case still shows as "ready." I really hope it doesn't take much longer, as I need to get back to work and my kids need to return to school!
-
In my case (EB1-B), it was mandatory, and they did ask for it. It has to be less than one month old.
-
Don’t worry about the change from "issued" back to "ready"—it’s clear that marking the status as "issued" on the same day as the interview was an error, which they corrected once they realized the mistake. My case is similar to yours, with the interview on September 6th, and my status has consistently shown as "ready" with updates on the 9th and 12th. I’m confident that the status will change to "issued" next week, and we should receive our passports with the long-awaited visa the following day! Enjoy your weekend

I believe the issue is due to the VJ profiles column not being sortable, unlike the other columns. Can someone fix this?
-
@AndrewsN, my situation is quite similar to yours (EB1 with a September 6th interview at 10:15 am), but I haven’t yet received any notice about them holding our passports until after October 1st. While I agree that waiting another month after everything we’ve been through to get to this stage isn't too much. My case is a bit different from most in the forum. I’ve been living and working in the U.S. for the past six years (on TN and later O1 visas), and my daughter just started university in the U.S., so waiting over two weeks for our passports is a significant issue for us. I’m still hopeful, especially since the officer was aware of my situation and mentioned he would request to expedite the process so I can return to work sooner. He also asked if I couldn’t wait longer to take my passports and send them later when I’m back in Canada with more time. @AndrewsN, did the officer tell you how long you’d be waiting at the end of your interview, like he did in my case and for @Froozion? Thanks!
