  1. Do you plan to continue to live with your parents? If so, then you will probably be fine if your mom helps sponsoring. They look at household income in addition to personal income. If you plan to move out soon on your own, you'll definitely want to boost your income, even with a sponsor. There are some cases where people are denied even with a sponsor since they have low income and have previously been on welfare. Assets contribute to income too, so remember to add up any savings you may have too.
  2. I just got this email from the NVC, saying its been 60 days and Well, its something. Thats good?
  3. Ours was still not shipped Another 2 weeks we have to wait now.. Its already been 10 weeks since we got NOA2
  4. Some of us have been waiting for around 2 months I sent an inquiry and they didn't tell me anything new, just that it was received.
  5. I think you're suppose to provide recent pay stubs too, to show your income/job is current. If you do that, then the W-2 wouldn't be necessary I wouldn't think.
  6. We've been waiting since March 11th. I have no clue why it's taking so long for us. 3 times longer than the average of 20 days.
  7. I've been waiting 40+ days, but others are hearing back after ~20.
  8. I did a public inquiry to get my case number, but thats it. What should I asked exactly? The timeline stats say the average processing time is 17 days, but its been over 40 days for us..... Just feels like something must be wrong?
  9. I got our NOA2 on Feb 27th, case assigned on March 11th, and its STILL "at NVC". Shouldn't it be heading to the embassy by now?
  10. Processing times have cut in half compared to a year or two ago
  11. This is so helpful! I know what date my case number was created now, so I can add that to my timeline. I know it was sent to NVC on Feb 29th and now I'm just waiting every day waiting for the next step. I'm learning now that I should be filling out the DS-160 asap. I didn't know about that form (its not mentioned anywhere in the k1 guides?) I'm trying to learn everything I can while waiting!
  12. I'm confused by what it means by "Income Contribution to the Beneficiary Annually". Its in Part 2 and Part 3. I read somewhere on here that I should just list 0 in part 2 and list my annual income on part 3? The way its worded makes me unsure about it. Should I list an estimate of my expected income this year, or should I list last year's income? If my paycheck is $200 a week, I should include a receipt of that and just multiply that by 52 weeks and say thats my income from my employed job? And then just add that to my last year's self-employment income (which I expect to be similar this year)? For this part, I can only select A OR B, but i'm employed AND self employed. Do I need to just print it and mark that in manually and explain it in part 8 additional information? Thanks. I'm just wanting to make sure I do it right since my employment income is kinda on the edge of the 100% poverty line for a 3 person household. My assets are worth around $70k, not including the house, so money isn't too much an issue, but i'm worried low employment income might be problematic? With a large amount of cash + stock assets, it should be fine, right?
  13. Yea, this is what I'm wondering. My fiancee is muslim, and I'm an atheist. We can't get married in Malaysia (very similar country to Indonesia). Even if not a legal wedding, it certainly wouldn't be a traditional wedding for a muslim woman to marry a non-muslim man.
  14. Yea, the website says "See the instructions" and then you download the instructions, and it says "Please see our website"
  15. Thanks. I thought I read somewhere several months ago about sending the form to the fiancee to sign the form and then she sends it back, but I guess I misread that. The page didn't mention that form is brought to the interview, so thats the main thing I was missing.
  16. That only says to begin filling it out and collecting evidence for it. It doesn't mention what you do once you've done that. At which step is it submitted and by who?
  17. I've read the guides and flowchart on here but none of them explain which step the form is actually needed. I guess step 8? or? So she will have to submit the form, not me?
  18. I'm in the exact same situation and would love some help too.
  19. That section of the form is so confusing. Its like they worded it all in the most confusing way possible.
  20. Do all those form include a child too, or are there extra fees if a child is included too?
  21. So this is exactly what happened My NOA1 is July 31st, so, basically August. I never guessed we would have received it so early. I'm so happy we got to celebrate the approval together and with our families.
  22. When I add up the k1 visa time estimates for each step, its 436 days. But the last graph says 540. Where is the 100 day difference coming from?
