  1. Got DQ’d on Sept 14 and waiting for the interview appointment date. From something I found that NVC schedules interviews on a monthly basis. So since they’ve recently finished scheduling for October interviews.. Those of us who got DQ‘d in mid Sept should receive our interview dates sometime in October and the dates will be for Nov-Dec appointments. Here’s the link: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/PDF-other/NVC_role_in_IVs_for_applicants_November_2016.pdf
  2. The only thing that will matter in this process for you is your medical and your police record. Any government benefits will not matter because the U.S. government is not going to use resources to verify that information lol. Financially they will only care to see if your partner is able to be financially responsible for you, as they do not want to you become a public charge in the US.
  3. From what you’ve shared, you said he’s the petitioner. When it comes to the application, the medical records and the police records that are looked at, are the ones belonging to the beneficiary. If you the beneficiary had those issues; it would be problematic.
  4. So it wasn’t a message about RFE. What happened is that I submitted the I-864, all pages. After submitting all of that I then submitted an extra copy of the sponsor signature page, just based on some feedback from others online. They accepted the I-864, but for the extra copy of the sponsor signature page, they asked for all pages to be uploaded which doesn’t make sense to me. So none of the required documents I sent got rejected. They only rejected the extra copy submission; which wasn’t a necessity.
  5. I’m just confused as to why they accepted the I-864 then
  6. I’m hoping for some clarification from anyone who might’ve experienced something similar. I submitted all the required documents. I was told by other petitioners and a lawyer that a wet signature needs to be uploaded for the I-864. Since I already uploaded the entire form with an electronic signature, I uploaded only the new signature page with a wet signature. NVC accepted all other documents except the wet signature page. They said to upload all pages even if the pages are blank. Now I am very confused because if they accepted the form with electronic signature; do I really still need to upload anything else? I really wish they had a more expeditious way for people to contact them😩
  7. Hi there, from my understanding the MRV fee is if you have filed for a nonimmigrant visa. There is a similar fee for those who have applied for a family based immigrant visa, called the immigrant fee and it’s $220. Which type of visa did you apply for?
