  1. I like the proof of health care insurance recommendation. I hadn't heard that before, but it makes sense. I'm planning to proceed with that before we go into our interview. Thank you.
  2. I did not get an email or inbox message saying that I was documentarily qualified. I did get a message that my I-864 documents had been accepted and that we could not schedule an interview in Manila. But then I received a separate message that said my case doesn't meet the minimum income requirements (presumably because the third year of income is missing.)
  3. Hello, all. Hoping that someone can help me with my dilemma. I've been a Social Security recipient for two years now. My social security amount exceeds the required minimum amount to sponsor my wife. I've continued to file my federal tax returns. My problem is the return I filed three years ago before I had filed for Social Security. I claimed no income that year as I was living off the funds in my savings account. The NVC has approved all of the documents I've submitted, however they've also attached a note telling me that my case doesn't meet the income requirements, almost certainly because of this third year for which I had no income. I understand that a joint sponsor could solve my problem, however I don't have the luxury of a joint sponsor as I am my only remaining family member. I'd been hoping that the NVC would account for the fact that the Social Security benefits I receive will continue to exceed the required amount. (I have some assets, albeit minimal, and not enough to cover the three times the minimum acquired amount for assets.) Does anyone have any information or recommendations on how I might proceed in getting my spouse to the US from the Philippines on our spousal visa application...or are we in trouble? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
