    EB1A

i strongly agree. However, one way a nurse could be eligible for EB1a is if that person has conducted a lot of research. In the US, I often come across nurses at public health conferences, where they are presenting baseline clinical research e.g. reducing risks of nosocomial infections by handwashing adoption . So the scope is there, but as @appleblossom said, the cut off is much higher for eb1a applicants, so OP will have to showcase extensive research, lots of citations, proof of major contribution, and proof of peer reviewer roles(judging roles).
  3. every case is different, i got eb1a approved, my profile is just over 1000 citations, around 130 peer reviews done. I get invites to peer review 2-3 times per week, so the 130 was over 3-4 years tbh. I was also invited to peer review major US conference abstracts, this was around 40 (but not in the 130). i personally believe 50 is a good number.
  4. Last time he paused all employment based green card processing (during covid). Reckon any such extreme measures immediately? or a more sustainable approach like the RAISE act he tried to put in place, but couldnt because he didnt control the house(he might this time).
  5. Browsing through reddit and other social media, and seeing lots of panic with the current election results. Are we really expecting more administrative processing and longer timelines?
  6. i have another occupation too , and i asked that to my lawyer and they said that the consular officer is more interested in what criteria you met and what you'll do in the US rather than what you did as work back home, and they are confident it wont be an issue. I also know of doctors who got eb1a, but petitioned to work as researchers, and they were doing research as a secondary thing. So you get the gist. I am in process of filing my ds260 and will report everything properly. better to over report than under.
  7. Congrats!!! so it took you almost 50 days to get your visa appointment! How many months ahead is the KL interview? Thats probably a big relief for your isnt it. Best of luck
  8. I joined groups with the region name and US in that, then i left the ones that were dead/inactive. And most in that group are not EB category, so I had to go through posts.
  9. During the background check after submitting the ds260, does the USCIS contact the people who signed the recommendation letters? Should I give them a heads up that they might be expecting a call from the USCIS? All letters I submitted just talked about my work, and did not mention any promise of any future job they are offering. I know that letters showing potential job offers can get checked.
  10. I went on the FB group for Jbrg and there we have more credible info: One person had PD october 13 2023, DQ Feb 7 2024, IV Aug 15. So 6.5 months for EB1a. I feel the person who told me a longer period mixed his DQ and his PD.
  11. For ROW, EB1(current), someone had a DQ of Jan end and iv this month, unless he lied on the dates. I prepared myself to wait that long to avoid disappointments. I hope I am wrong and we dont have to wait so long.
  12. Thanks, i think i will just skip the lawyer part. I have started filling my ds260. For the social media, they even included Whatsapp now btw (because it has a status portion, which counts as social media rather than private messaging). I have a twitter account that I share with others where we often post our accepted projects, it was set up by someone else, but I took over and linked it with my email, but the description says my name and the whole team. The DS260 portion mentioned that multi-user accounts do not need to be added. My brain says "don't add", but just wanted to confirm.
  13. Not surprising as it seems that based on posts i have seen on reddit and other social media, people from backlogged places including Pakistan, are transferring there in big numbers. Such transfers also caused a backlog in South Africa, where at present the waiting time is 9-10months(used to be 4months last year). Country of origin, place of interview, travel history, and just the consular officer.
  14. Did you have anything in your background? eg. travel to any high scrutiny country etc?
  15. Yeah, i have heard that they usually ask for an updated cv to add to the file. Was it DS-5535?
  16. I got my police clearance certificates finally, and can proceed to start my ds260 and so on. I have a question, i never got my online access code for the uscis account. I asked a live person via Emma, and they told me " The I-140 is not compatible with the USCIS online account. You will not get an access code for it". I created my uscis account last year for another petition that i withdrew back then. Is it important to have a uscis account or have my approved petition on that? i will rehire my lawyer to handle this part too as there is too much at stake.
  17. Congrats!!! Was the one month in AP because of the quota being exhausted(ie waiting for new FY)? Or were you from a country that usually does more background check?
  18. Even i am confused haha. In summary, i applied for eb1a and got approved after i think 9 business days. I have not filed for dq yet as I have pending paperwork in progress.
  19. Hahaha true true, the i140 took so much hard work to get approved, but you are nail on there, i do need to relax a bit. @Lan22 Thank you that's a relief. You guys are all amazing!
  20. Thanks to @pebb1ee @NiJOS7@appleblossom @DDON for the discussion on the job market. I have tried to apply in my field(research in public health). However, it seems that at present, I am a visa requiring candidate(as I just got my i140 approved for EB1a), and the process is more limited (plus any visa sponsorship fees would probably come from their grant money, which they don't want). I do have a verbal offer(via WhatsApp, he just mentioned, "Come work for me," to which I replied, "Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my green card to be processed"). Does that even count when asked during the consular processing? The PI of that team is not willing to put the offer on paper(I understand that).
  21. What did they ask you about during the interview?(ie non document-wise)
  22. Congrats! and all the best for your new journey. How long from DQ did it take for them to issue you the IL (London)?
  23. i had a similar situation although not for Cameroon, but i lived almost a decade elsewhere and never went back. You will have to hire a legal representative e.g. a lawyer or a paralegal who will make you signed notarized copies of power of attorney for that process(certified by the consulate of that country in your country) so that they can proceed to do the process on your behalf. A very basic procedure. This is correct
