  1. We recently got a CC where I'm a secondary authorizer on my wife's card and we have some purchases. I was thinking to take this with me during the interview as stash as 'updated' docs. What would be the best proof? It's weird that the statements doesn't have either of our names but we have a physical card. Can we take the statement + photocopy of two CCs next to each other? Thanks
  2. Fair enough. She just applied to change her address it will take 3 days to approve and then she can order a replacement (i think). Got my interview date: 3 Nov.
  3. We have an RFE on our I-751, so I'm sure the first set of questions will be related to that and then the N-400 application. Any suggestions on this? We sent in all the evidence months ago (details on previous pages), so that should be in the system. 1. Regarding the addresses on our IDs: my wife still has her parents' house on her driver's license as she didn't update hers. I updated mine a few months ago. I'm not sure if this is considered a red flag. Either way, its too late to update now. 2. I got laid off from my day job, so the health insurance evidence we submitted is now obsolete. Are there any issues with this? 3. Should I take my physical green card and extension letter too? 4. When should I expect a mail for the interview? Hopefully there's enough time window from the mail arrival to interview date.
  4. I just got an email saying "Interview was scheduled" haven't received a mail yet. Any DOs and DONT's during interview? Thank you.
  5. What's the average time for a case to go from "interview pending" to "interview scheduled"? The fact that my interview is in requested state is a good thing?
  6. I got a chance to an agent from USCIS and I got following info: My interview was requested and is waiting to be scheduled. It was requested on 05/24/24 and the location of the case is NBC. When the interview is scheduled, does the case move to the field office? So, do the processing times of a field office not apply to my case at the moment? Because if I look up my field office times...I'm definitely out of the normal process times. I guess they're all estimates.
  7. State: CA Last time I paid for DL was in 2021 My first DL was issued in 2021 and expired in 2025 and I paid for it (cant remember how much). The second DL is issued in 2024 (a week ago) and expired in 2025 and I paid $30.
  8. So, I applied for a new DL because I needed to change the address. They asked for a copy of my GC and my extension letter. The new DL arrived in the mail today, and I'm surprised they only granted it for a year. Is this because of my pending I-751/N-400? I usually see the expiry date closer to the GC expiration, especially with the extension letter.
  9. I have talked to my lawyer on the status of i-751 RFE's response and this is what she has to say: > I do not expect any change in the status of that application because from the moment you filed the N-400 (Naturalization application), they generally hold the I-751 Adjudication and the officer will decide BOTH on the same day, during your Naturalization interview/exam. Furthermore, because you will need an interview for the N-400, I do not expect them to issue any response to our response to the RFE. Generally, the only response we get when we reply to an RFE is a decision on the case: approved or denied. Again, because they would likely neither approve nor deny your I-751 while you have a pending N-400, we will not get such a notice. > Bottom line: We are now expecting only an Interview/Exam date from USCIS on your N-400.
  10. It's been 30 days since I replied to the RFE, and there's been no movement other than 'Response has been received.' I e-filed it. Usually, RFEs are processed quickly as they're close to a decision, but I guess this can depend on the case and vary from office to office. Anyways, can there be a rough estimate in general?
  11. March 2023 filers should be filing their N400 soon or now? This should kick-start your i-751 application.
  12. > I'd include all statements you have for that account with both names on it (since marriage date) rather than just one recent. Since our marriage, my wife has managed certain funds under her name, making selective stock investments based on her uncle's advice. I couldn't open an account in the U.S. because my CR1 visa was allotted to me in 2021 (we were living abroad), and we got married in 2019. We verbally agreed that this money was ours. We started a community property in 2022 but never actively maintained it; it only contained tax refunds. However, following the RFE, we decided to officially transfer those specific funds into the community property. We have a Verizon bill that has both of our names on it and we submitted that with our N400 application. Gas, Internet, Electricity, and Water are all in my name and paid by me. Would this be a good time to have both of our names on these bills? Even though we can't resubmit our RFE evidence it might be useful during our interview?
  13. Lease agreement with both names were given to them with the N400 application. So, my lawyer suggested we shouldn't repeat evidence as they will have visibility over both I751 and N400 application. We have a community property and we showed a statement balance with both of our names on the account. That's the "Recent investment account statement" in the list. In general, we prefer to keep our finances separate and have allocated bills to pay each month. Also, my wife comes from a wealthy family where accounts are kept separate so we like to do the same. It might be too late to submit anything right now?
  14. OK, I've got my hands on the initial file for the I-751 submission, and here's the list of evidence (I'm omitting the standard forms, passport copy, etc.) Initial evidence submitted: - 2022 Joint Car Insurance - 2021-2022 Joint Health Coverage - 2021 Joint Taxes - 2022 Joint Taxes - Copy of my spouse and I's Driver's License demonstrating shared address - Recent photos (18) RFE response evidence submitted: - 2023 Tax Return - Recent investment account statement - Receipts from wedding expenses - Passport stamps from both spouse and I's passports - Travel receipts (airbnb and airline) - Storybook narrative of our relationship - Photographs of us through the years (50 photos) - Call logs - A 2023 Christmas card received
  15. Ok, I have uploaded all the evidence. Will it be too ambitious to expect a reply within 4 weeks? > Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received > We received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence... USCIS has begun working on your case again. We will send you a decision or notify you if we need something from you.
  16. No, it doesn't mention anything about uploading or mailing. I prefer uploading because it allows for faster delivery compared to mailing. I could compress some files, which would result in a trade-off in the quality of some photos, while keeping some photos in high quality for better visibility, such as gift cards and letters where text needs to be readable. Let me know what you think.
  17. So, my RFE response is 100MB file which I'm having trouble upload as the requirement is 5MB per file and up to 5 files that's 20MB. Either I remove some evidence or mail the whole thing in? It's wild that my evidence online depends on a 20MB of storage space.
  18. I have a lawyer who submitted this, and I have never reviewed what her team sent. Maybe I should circle back on what was actually submitted for the I-751 and identify the missing evidence, but I'd like to ask: Can I respond to the RFE with repeated evidence (the one I sent with the N400) and maybe add some new ones? Or is it redundant, and should I focus on gathering new evidence?
  19. What's strange to me is that they've specified to submit the evidence starting from the date of marriage and not the start date of when the I-751 was filed.
  20. > Another less stressful explanation is that they need you to send updated evidence from date of filing until now I don't get it. Do they not have visibility over the N400 application, which has up-to-date joint tax returns with leasing information?
  21. Update: As soon as I applied for N400 after a month I got an RFE for I-751 asking to submit more evidence that we share marital life together. This is awkward, all the evidence is there! Could they not look at evidence from the past and the one submitted with N400.
  22. timings changed on the portal, now it's 5 months! > Estimated time* until case decision: approx. 5 months
  23. Follow-up: I have e-filed N400. This is what I see on my USCIS dashboard. > Estimated time* until case decision: approx. 7 months > *These completion projections are based on case processing for applicants who have been lawful permanent residents for at least 5 years. For all other applicants, completion projections may vary. How many interviews should I expect? additionally, how useful is the estimated time?
  24. I have some ideas for protecting the forums from spam. One suggestion is to replace the text-based question during the signup process with an image-based question.
