October 2023 - AOS Filers

Wish the one we saw would have done that. The RFE said to update vaccines, the Civil Surgeon said it was all or nothing..... -

Civil surgeon appointment completed, they required all new lab work which meant going over to a lab as well. Was told by the Doctor that they would reach out in 2 weeks when the paperwork was completed after the lab results came back. Looks like no quick turn around like we hoped 😕 Why does it seem like the AOS is a money pit.....insurance wouldn't cover the medical, but it did cover the labs, luckily the Civil surgeons office reduced the cost for the process to $350. Labs were only $10. -

Sign up for USPS informed delivery is my suggestion. That's how we tracked my wife's EAD card after the website said card was produced. -

Exam has been scheduled for tomorrow. $420 usd, ouch....hopefully our insurance covers some of it. Luckily here where we live it can be done without a long wait like it was in Thailand. There we had to schedule the appointment 2 months in advance to get it done just before the interview. -

That is what the RFE states, Incomplete Vaccinations. She needed to have 3 vaccinations to complete the series for Varicella, Hepatitis B and one other. She completed them in Thailand before immigrating here to the US and I submitted the records from the Hospital where she received them from when I submitted the Copy of the medical record for her IME with the AOS package. Sounds like they did not accept those documents as proof. Scheduling a exam with a Civil Surgeon as soon as the office opens up. -

So a new RFE popped into the Documents location this Morning. The RFE is fir completion of an I-693, civil surgeon medical exam. I will schedule one for my wife today. It says it can be uploaded on the online site but I thought these were sealed and to be unopened. The one my wife came into the country with (IME) was sealed and given to CBP at the POE. Hopefully this is the last paperwork they request. I wonder what was missing from her IME that they are requiring a new medical. Her medical was done in May of 2023 so it's not even a year yet. -

Just checked the USCIS app for I-485 status and saw they were sending another RFE, but under the Documents tab no RFE was showing. Went back to case history and there is another notation showing the request was canceled. January 23, 2024 Status Request for Additional Evidence Was Sent Date January 23, 2024 January 23, 2024 Status We have cancelled the request for additional evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Date January 23, 2024 Has this happened to anyone else and what could it mean? -

My wife was approved on January 4th, card produced on the 13th and arrived by USPS on the 20th. So it took 16 days from initial approval shown under documents. -

Started collecting documents for the i-751 already. Just heard from a friend of my wife's who started AOS 2 years ago and has not received her GC yet still processing. She had to go for an interview last week and she was told by a USCIS individual that when approved because she's been in process for 2 years she should get a 10 year GC. Crazy. -

Thanks. I was hoping with card in hand they would remove the notation. -

My wife's EAD card arrived yesterday. Now to go back to SS and have them re-issue the SS card without the notation on it, as well as going g to DMV to have them release her ID card as they were requiring a new photo document or updated I-94 before they would issue it. I can finally add her to the checking, savi gs and retirement accounts as well. Such a game this is. AOS status says 2 months on the app, but that keeps bouncing up and down. AP status still shows being processed with no changes since they started the review. One wonders if that's because they are actively processing the GC AOS and are waiting to see if it will be completed soon or not. -
As the title of the OP states we filed my wife's AOS package in 2023 October to be exact. The question now is that since the AOS is still pending should I upload the 2023 tax documents such as the 1099R W2 and new transcripts after I file next month. USCIS app status shows its in step 3 being actively reviewed with an estimate of 6 months. I would upload it in the app as unsolicited documents. What are your thoughts? Or should I let sleeping dogs lay and not rock the boat.

Gotta love the MyProgress tab for the EAD. Just checked and it says 1 week. However, in the documents section this just showed up showing the EAD has been approved yet nothing under the AP. The I-485 shows 7 months......no new documents there either. -

What I did was create a cover letter explaining the attached pages were an update to correct the I-485 Section 8 Public charge, and only submitted those originally submitted pages (our copy) with my wife initialing each of the changes for numbers 61-68.b. This was done using the On-Line portion under the I-485 section in the USCIS app and uploaded as unsolicited information. I hope it keeps us from being sent an RFE as the I-485 shows it is being actively reviewed at this point. -

As I said in an earlier post I dont believe that the MyProgress tab is very worthy as an indicator. My wife just checked and the Status for the I-485 shows 1 month, while the EAD has gone from "Taking longer than expected" to now showing 4 weeks. We shall see how this actually changes next week as time progresses out. I did submit "Unsolicited evidence" for the I-485 earlier this week in reference to the Public Charge question many of us seem to have answered incorrectly instead of waiting for an RFE. -

Gotta love the MyProgress tab for the I-485. A few days ago it said 2 months, then it went to 5 months and today it says 7 months, while the EAD still shows taking longer than expected.......such a cluster. No other documents have been listed either. In essence the program is unreliable. -

Double check your I-864 copy you made for yourselves, I hope you did make a copy. Check the 3 years income listed and make sure you put the right amounts in those boxes. That was my 1st issue I found. The amounts need to be above the 125% poverty level. My other issue was the household number as I listed my spouse twice. The Married box should be a 0 as the spouse is already listed in the Top box as your sponsoring them. My other issues were as I listed in that post and why I sent them everything but the kitchen sink. -

I agree, the my progress tab now shows 5 months for the GC and the EAD says taking lo ger than expected, the AP says 5 months. No new documents produced on any of the 3...... Happy for all of those who have succeeded. My wife is worried that we will have to sell up here in the US and move back overseas to SE Asia. No way will she go back to Myanmar as it's in a civil war. -

I gave them everything needed to see my finances. Sucks but it lays out the whole picture.
