Yeah it sounds like that, I just wish they'd be more explicit and clear in their statements, I also do believe this as why would there be a reason at all to request complete court records.... I mean I just want to know she's not going to get rescheduled for another interview date just because we missed getting these records or something like that...

So as the title says, my wife got her Interview Letter (BGT) yesterday, we're crying our eyes out 😂, now with this new step... a couple of questions arises... Some context: We have read all the instructions so far, along with the supplementary guide, I had already registered her in the ACS appointment (I assume this is the biometric stuff? or the place they will use to send the passport to after the interview?), and well the interview is already scheduled... 1) What items/documents does she needs to bring to her ACS appointment? it's not specified anywhere that it requires her some sort of documents... or did I miss it? 2) ... idk. with all this excitement I forget what things to ask, so I will keep updating if we come across more questions or if I remember

So I was browsing around while keeping in waiting for the IL or notice, I this site it says that I need to register https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/BGT-Bogota.html#pre_interview_checklist some sort of appointment, when I go access the website I get a couple of choices but they all seem related to have received some sort of notice from the consulate or Embassy (I assume the IL)? and the last option says None of the above, should I proceed with this? or am I going to fast here?

So we (my wife IR1 visa case) recently got DQ'd and her case was expedited to the US Embassy at Bogota Colombia (we're talking about days here) for further processing. NVC told us the Embassy would be getting in contact with us shortly how should we take this?... should she go ahead and make the preparation for the medical exams? does this means they already have a potential interview date or should I wait further information / contact from the embassy themselves? Do they contact us directly through email? or the NVC does this? What's next? I've seen other cases being processed faster than ours, but in other countries, I understand every embassy is different... is how's your experience been with Bogota?

Thank you, Mr. Corbett, what would be the worst thing that could happen if I get to continue on my own the case is sent to the US Embassy and the consular officer doesn't think I qualify? In your experience have you had any similar case where someone just makes a couple of thousands over the poverty guidelines? Should I continue with my joint sponsor? Thank you in advance for your answers! -

As I read around the forums, there is a common practice the NVC do which is to send a message, that tells you that there MIGHT be a need to add a joint sponsor... so I got anxious and read the thing as if I NEEDED or they were asking me for a joint sponsor.. So I started looking for a Join Sponsor, not paying attention that the notice wasn't really asking me for a join sponsor as a requirement but just as a notice... So these are my new questions: 0) I do feel like I qualify enough and I'm above the 125%, but lets say just 1000-2000 above.. do you think I would be better off alone, or do I get my joint sponsor to join? Also, does adding the sponsor adds obviously another layer on top of the case? does it complicates it more? 1) My Joint Sponsor sent me his taxes, one where he is (the most recent, 2022) filling jointly with his wife and listing 2 other dependents (their children), 2021 filing as HOH (head of household) and 2020 where he is also filing as HOH... My question is if they want the current individual annual income, and the most recent tax is jointly... how do I get his individual current annual income? 2) Part 3. Item # 29, is 1, since he will only be sponsoring my wife right? Also, what about my child, he is already my dependent also, what do I have to put in Part 5. 1 through 8? my joint sponsor is married, has 2 dependent people (son and daughter) as declared in his taxes... do I put 2 in #4 or #5? 3) How do I fill up part 6, or I don't have to? he's not using anybody else's assets on his household for this matter. 4) I have prepared my joint sponsor i-864, therefore do I need to fill up part 10 myself with my info right? Thanks! -

Also... when I'm about to upload the documents, it tells me "BRING ALL YOUR ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS (not photocopies) to the interview with you" I assume this is to my wife, since I won't be there... now my question is, if I scan a paystub (this is done through my companies HR portal) its obviously an electronic document... will I just be able to print this document and send it to my wife? or will I need to have my company print it for me and then send them? -

Hey guys, first and foremost, thank you very much, for helping me along the way, I'm currently working on my I-864 while also working on my wife civil documents and so on and translating all the documents possible... My question now arises from this link: Colombia (state.gov), it says, for police records: So my question is since policia.gov.co, is the only issuing authority and the only one handling this type of cert (even the "fiscalia", which is a higher authority/entity in the juridical system in Colombia, says that), how am I will be able to find "...complete court records..."? -

Filing the DS-260 for my wife, I get to this part: Permanent Address Please provide the following information on where you intend to live after arrival in the United States. What will happen to this address in the eventuality that I move... will I have to send a public inquiry form to the NVC explaining I moved? and update with USCIS with an change of address? also on this same topic... if I update the address with NVC, shall I also update it along side with USCIS at the same time? or the organization that has the case (NVC) is the one should be notified only.... ?? -

TioPeperino replied to TioPeperino's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Can I do this? The PDF editor I'm using doesnt allows me to put any kind of symbol, so I can't do "N/A" in the fields, and if its numeric, it will force me to write only numbers... so I'm doing all zeroes in these fileds... is this alright? or you recommend me to fill most of the fillable info first then print the form and put N/A with ink? how should I proceed? To add upon this... it's weird because in Part 4, item 3, I must select YES or NO if my mailing address is the same as the physical address... if it is, it won't let me put nothing in the physical address fields... like if USCIS itself would be telling me you can't edit these fields, therefore DO NOT write anything here/leave in blank... so it's like they are telling you, you can actually do that, does it means I can leave the other fields in blank? Also I read somewhere on another thread people flipping out if you left things in blank you would get and RFE...??? given the situation above, is this still frowned upon if I do leave them blank? -

More questions!!! Right before submitting the I-864 I get the following in red Remember: You MUST bring all of your original documents (not a photocopy) to your interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. What if I file the I-864 using a software like NitroPDF or Acrobat Reader, or any other software that allows me to edit and/or fill these forms? How do I take the "original" document if the document is filed virtually? or do I have to file this manually and then sign it and submit it? Also with this question it rises another one, if I can do it virtually through NitroPDF or Acrobat Reader, or any other, can I sign virtually also, and that will be considered a signature? -

A new question, I'm about to submit my documents, finally got my late W2 and I see this in the checklist for tips for when filing the form... If you submit any documents (copies or original documents, if requested) in a foreign language, you must include a full English translation along with a certification from the translator verifying that the translation is complete and accurate, and that they are competent to translate from the foreign language to English. My wife is in Colombia so the language of the interview will be held in Spanish, do I still need to translate these documents to English? Also, when reading the tips it also specified this: If you file within the United States: You must file with the Department of State; however, they charge a fee. For more information, please visit their website. Does this means I must ONLY file through them and only through this method? using an USCIS Lockbox and so on?? can't I do it through NVC/CEAC???? -

Thank you very much for your answers! they are really valuable as they bring me more clarity into my situation and definitely clears my doubts! thank you! Also on #1 will require me to submit stubs now for them to start processing the case right? but you recommended me to send her the most recent ones when she gets the interview... that would require me to send her the most recent ones, plus those scanned now, as we're speaking of the future right? Thanks once more! -

Somehow I cannot update this post anymore by editing it, so I would post the update here. On question #3 I stated we have our first baby, he just got his CRBA + PPT approved 5 days ago... and just today my wife received the CRBA + Passport we're so excited for this! - So the baby can now safely travel as he is an US Citizen - So this was the update, hope someone can help me with these questions as I'm at the last steps and I don't really do anything or upload anything or tell my joint sponsor anything before I can get these questions cleared/confimed. -
So HELLO WORLD! As my first ever post I would like to thank this community beforehand, for allowing me to share this, as I find (for me) this is the only forum/community truly dedicated to immigration, I appreciate your time and dedication and anything you can help me with in my questions. Couple of things... I'm in the last 12 steps for processing my I-864 I have gathered all of my financial documents, tax return transcripts for last year (recently late filed) and paystubs, my wife has also done her part in at her country (gotten all orginal of the documents, and so on, she had scanned them for purposes of uploading them to the platform.). 1. Since I started working recently (got hired on around May/June 2023) and with this new job, I comply the minimum requirement above the 125% thing they ask for my family size (3), my wife, our son and I... I late filed for 2022 taxes right now as of a couple of days ago... I'm getting my tax transcript soon, my accountant told me I reported a very low amount for that year so obviously, my understanding is that this amount for this purposes would be very low (below the 125%) to support my family and I would be required to file with a joint sponsor, right? Can I get around the need of that sponsor by submitting a letter from my job stating I make X/hr and I have been hired since X and uploading the paystubs? or do you still recommend me to go with the sponsor? 2. on the website to submit documents and file the applications (Immigrant Visa - Sign In (state.gov)) there is an option to choose who is who... eg. Beneficiary, Petitioner, Lawyer... my wife keeps telling me to submit and do her paperwork (her only barrier is the language) just as how I did for I-130 (I translated for her and certified her responses were accurate and so on); So, can I do this by logging in her side of things? Or its imperative that she does this on her own? 3. We now have our first ever baby, he's 9mo old, when the case advances and she gets the interview, can she travels to the US with the baby without me being present for the flight? do I have to be present to give "permissions" that I allow her to travel with the baby? can that be done remotely? what do we need? 4. When she gets the interview do I need to be with her? I noticed the website states, all scanned documents must be present in their original form at the time of the interview.. is this only for her, or for me also?
