  1. If I submit the application and the supporting documentation isn't sufficient, will I have to pay again and start the process from the beginning or will I be allowed to submit extra documentation if required?
  2. thank you, yes I realize its a long process and if he had made his decision a few months ago before he turned 21 it would be a different situation, but here we are... I have his birth certificate and his UK registration of birth, I was just unsure how I go about providing further evidence if more is required, the agreement between him and his mother for child support was never documented but I guess I could ask her to get bank statements which show the payments, and naturally we have photographs of us together.
  3. I am a permanent US resident (UK citizen) and I am attempting to file the I-130 for my 21 year old son, me and his mother were never married but we lived together for the first 8 years of his life, and I have supported him emotionally and financially through his first 18 years and beyond (the bank of dad never closes) I'm confused as to what evidence I need to provide to demonstrate our relationship and my support of him, the application process is frustratingly vague, is there a template of a statement that I can ask his mother to sign? or any other suggested evidence I can use for the application. His mother and I had a private arrangement for my financial support of him, therefore it was never formally documented, so in the absence of official documentation would a written statement cover it? Thanks in advance for any advice.
