  1. Hi all. Recently submitted my AOS from WVP through US Citizen Spouse marriage. The name on my passport is different from the name on my birth certificate (not through marriage). In the UK parents were allowed to simply request a different surname for their child on a passport if they included a letter asking this, there is no formal legal process. My mother wanted us to have the same last name as her husband. In the UK we don’t really go to a court to have the name changed, we have something called a Deed Poll (this can be signed/witnessed by anyone) or a Statutory Declaration which has a bit more teeth as it needs to be witnessed by a justice of the peace/lawyer/commissioner of oath. So when they asked for my name change I don’t technically have a court order, but a Statutory Declaration so I hope USCIS will accept it. My big worry now however, is on the ESTA to apply for my visa waiver entry there is a question, are you known by any other names. I’ve had over 50 entries to the and always left that section blank because simply I’ve never been known by my birth name. Literally, until this AOS process I forgot that it existed. The questions on the 130a and 485 are both worded differently. With 130a asking for any other names used, and 485 asking for any other names since birth. Do you think it’s going to cause me an issue in the processes that I left the ESTA fields blank? This was simply down to the wording of the question. Thanks for any help provided.
