  1. If I recall correctly, certified translators are accredited by the Embassy and have to pass specific certification exams. There should be services in Warsaw that provide this. You might be able to "certify it" yourself but personally I err on the side of caution in this process.
  2. Hard to believe it went unnoticed when they were getting emails from every single congressman and senator's office in the country, honestly (including my congressman)
  3. Meanwhile the NVC was lying to senators and congressmen. Incredible. People need to be fired (it won't happen).
  4. Oh good, Rapidvisa just informed me that I have to bring updated affidavits of support for 2022. I'm so grateful we had to wait five months
  5. I know it's possible, but they say that you shouldn't do it until you receive the letter (why? I have no idea). I'm willing to err on the side of caution and will wait until I get that letter. ...How long does it take to get an interview letter after getting "case ready" in CEAC?
  6. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-immigration-visas-insight-idUSKCN1RR0UX This is the article I was referring to. I guess reading a bit more in-depth, the petitioner wasn't working and her children were on government benefits. I work and have never used benefits. Maybe we'll be OK. I just want every angle covered.
  7. I read an article the other day that consular officers are rejecting a lot more visas because they have discretionary power when it comes to determining if someone will be a public charge if admitted to the US. My wife's IR1 visa interview is just waiting to be scheduled (CEAC says "ready") but I'm wondering if it would help if I gave her recent paystubs to bring to the interview? I'm making significantly more money than when we were in the NVC stage six months ago. We filed with a joint sponsor just in case. I just don't want to go through all of this and have the visa denied because the consular officer thought she may become a public charge.
  8. It says not to schedule until you receive notification from the embassy, but CEAC Status Tracker says the case is "ready". I can pull up the calendar to schedule. So does that mean I can do it?
  9. FYI A bunch of IR1/CR1s DQ'd Jan-May got auto-expedited. Remember to check your CEAC page to see if yours did- it'll be in the "new messages" part.
  10. We also got our auto-expedite (DQ Feb 1st, PD Nov 2021)! Thank God things are finally moving forward. How long does it take for an expedite to lead to a case ready email?
  11. Ugh. Should I just go ahead and contact the NVC too? Or should I wait for a response? This entire situation is beyond ridiculous.
  12. Hi! We've been waiting almost five months for an interview (IR1 visa- manila) and still haven't heard. I've been living here with my wife for almost four years now but now my work needs me to return home to the States ASAP. I understand contacting the NVC about an expedite is a total crapshoot and my visa agency (RapidVisa) recommended that I contact the embassy directly about an expedite, which I did earlier today via their "case-specific visa inquiry form". How long does it usually take for an embassy to respond to inquiries? I'm not expecting anything over the next few days, but am I looking at a week or a month or more?
  13. DQ on 5/31??? Not expedite? We've been DQ'd since Feb 1st and we haven't seen anything.
  14. I asked my congresswoman for help and the NVC told them: "Thank you for contacting the office of Congresswoman Jen Kiggans regarding your spousal visa issue. Per your request, I contacted the Department of State on your behalf. The agency has informed me that the U.S. Embassy in Manila will provide the NVC with a list of available appointment dates and times. The NVC will schedule this case for an interview appointment when an open appointment date is available. These appointments are scheduled on a on a first-in, first-out basis. " I am reaching the absolute limit of my sanity.
  15. In the same boat. Have an IR1, been DQ'd since Feb 2 and live here with my filipino wife. This is becoming a serious problem as my boss has been extraordinarily patient for me to return but I don't suspect that will last forever. I thought we needed to have the interview letter to schedule the medical exam?
  16. Is it true they haven't even been sending out interview letters since January to clear other backlogs? We've been DQ'd since February 1st. This is insane.
