  1. I emailed to the same address. I hope you hear good news soon!
  2. Hi @Leo The Great That’s great to hear. I really hope my status changes soon. Thanks for sharing!
  3. I wasn’t born in Iran or the other flagged countries. Have you tried following up with the consulate?
  4. Hi everyone, I had my visa interview at the Montreal consulate on October 15, 2024, and my case was put under AP with a DS-5535 form and my CV submitted—possibly flagged under TAL since I work in AI. On October 17, I received an email requesting my passport, which I sent the same day. It was delivered to the consulate on October 18, and I noticed a few unsolicited case updates in the next two weeks. My last update was on November 6. I emailed the consulate on November 12 to confirm if they received my passport and inquire about my case. On November 29, they acknowledged receipt of my passport and stated: "The case is currently pending review by a consular officer." Does this mean my AP is finished and is awaiting final review, or has the consular officer not sent my case for AP yet? Any insights or similar experiences would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  5. Hello, Does the request for my passport indicate that administrative processing is complete? Or is there a chance they've asked for it as part of the background checks, such as reviewing the stamps in my passport? Please note that I traveled for vacation purposes to two countries after submitting my DS-260. I am thinking this might be the case since they requested my passport within 48 hours of the interview after refusing under 221g and requesting DS-5535. I’d appreciate hearing others’ experiences or opinions on this. Please note that my passport was delivered on October 18, so it’s been over a month, and there have been no updates since November 6.
  6. I requested premium delivery and am concerned about whether they will keep my passport for longer. My passport was delivered on October 18, so it’s been over a month, and there have been no updates since November 6.
  7. Hi everyone, I had my visa interview at the Montreal consulate on October 15, 2024, and my application was refused under 221g and DS5535. The visa officer requested my CV, which I provided on spot, and I filled out the DS-5535 the same day. Surprisingly, on October 17, 2024, the consulate requested my passport, which I sent via Canada Post Express the same day. The consulate received it on October 18, 2024 as per the courier confirmation. Since then, I’ve noticed about three updates to my case, but the status still shows "Refused." Case Information: Case Type: EB2-NIW (ROW) Interview Date: October 15, 2024 Passport Request: October 17, 2024 Passport Received by Consulate: October 18, 2024 Last Case Update: November 6, 2024 I was wondering: How long does it typically take for the visa to be issued after the passport is received? Does the request for my passport indicate that administrative processing is complete? Please find attached a screenshot of the passport request email I received from the consulate. Is this type of email commonly sent once processing is finished, or do they explicitly mention when administrative processing is complete? I’m beginning to feel a bit anxious and would greatly appreciate any insights or experiences you might have. Thank you!
  8. Hi everyone, I had my visa interview at the Montreal consulate on October 15, 2024, and unfortunately, my application was refused under 221g. During the interview, the visa officer requested my CV, which I promptly provided. I was also given the DS-5535 form to fill out online, which I completed the same day out of frustration. Surprisingly, on October 17, 2024, I received an email from the consulate requesting my passport, valid for at least six months beyond my intended travel date. I sent my passport through Canada Post Express Courier on the same day and the consulate received the package on October 18, 2024. Since then, I’ve noticed about three unsolicited updates to my case status, but the case status still shows as "Refused." Case Information: Case Type: EB2-NIW Country of Eligibility: ROW DQ Date: May 23, 2023 Interview Letter Received: October 4, 2024 (Expedited) Interview Date: October 15, 2024 Medical Received: October 17, 2024 Passport Request: October 17, 2024 Passport Sent: October 17, 2024 Passport Received by Consulate: October 18, 2024 Last Case Update: November 6, 2024 I’m beginning to feel a bit anxious as the case status hasn’t changed from "Refused," despite the updates. Has anyone been in a similar situation, and how long did it take for your case to be resolved? Is it a good sign that my case has been updated multiple times? I would appreciate any advice or insights you might have. Thank you!
