Hi @AA-H! Can you confirm that you had no issue returning to the US with the temporary green card stamp?
-
@Froozion Did you cross the border yet? Hope all went well!
-
@Aaron_ Is it possible you could confirm where this info came from? My immigration lawyer told me today that once you activate your the temporary visa in your passport, you can't cross the border again until you receive your actual green card. Does anyone know that this is for sure incorrect? (Really hoping he's wrong!)
-
We also just picked up our passports with the visas inside and our sealed packets to bring to the border.
-
Just received my tracking info as well!
-
Still waiting for my tracking number email as well. Assuming it can take a few days?
-
@AA-H Amazing!! Are you shipping with Canada Post?
-
Our status just updated to issued!! Congrats everyone! Our interview was Sept 16.
-
Has anyone's CEAC status changed today? Mine still says Refused. Our interview was Sept 16th, hoping to hear that people who had interviews earlier in the month are being processed?
-
@Froozion No it was: Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov I was so surprised to get a response from them!

In case this is helpful, I contacted the Montreal Consulate to try to confirm they had now received our medicals, following our Sept 16th interview where they said they did not have them, and actually got a response! This is the email they sent today: "Thank you for contacting us. We confirm receipt of the medical reports. Please contact us on October 1st, 2024 to request that your case be reviewed so we can proceed. We hope that this information is helpful. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance." I have no idea why we need to contract them again on October 1st, I thought we were already in line for processing, but at least I got the confirmation on the medicals and will obviously email them on the 1st.

Thank you for confirming that @Texasbound1! Ours says it was last updated Sept 19, still says Refused. The other CEAC text reads: A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV or the website for the Embassy or Consulate at which you made your visa application. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV. Would you mind confirming if yours reads the same? I'm trying to ensure that our missing medicals (which have now been found, according to our immigration doctor) aren't creating any further delay/complication & that we are in line for Oct 1st like your case.

@Froozion what does your CEAC say now? Curious when exactly EB1 visas ran out and if you made it under the deadline with your Sept 9th interview.
-
Did your CEAC change to say "Refused"? Ours has, as of Sept 16.

Hi there! Would you mind answering if you received this notice via email or regular mail? If from email, can I ask which email it came from?
-
They did not ask for them. I had brought two "offer of employment" letters - basically companies saying they'd love to hire me on x project if I'm granted status, but didn't end up needing them.
-
Sure, for reference, I'm an EB-1 self-petitioned "Alien with extraordinary abilities." They asked a few clarifying questions on what I do for work in Canada. They asked why now is the right time to move my work to the United States, and what I will bring to my industry in the U.S. They asked if we'd traveled to the U.S. before (yes) but didn't ask for any further detail. I think that was about it? I didn't end up needing a lot of the documents my immigration lawyer had advised I prepare, but at least I wasn't caught without things I needed.

We had our Montreal interview today for EB1 & same thing happened as others have stated: that we were "refused" because there are no visas available until Oct 1st, but they kept our passports and said everything looked good. One other hiccup was that they hadn't received our Immigration Medicals - even though we did them on Aug 27th at Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas in Toronto. The Consulate officer said to just make sure they are sent before Oct 1st - she seemed surprisingly chill about it. I've followed up with Dr. Lyndon's office and that assure me they sent them in last week so I don't know how this is messed up, but I'll be chasing getting it rectified ASAP. Maybe a good reason to go to another immigration doctor than him as THIS IS THE WHOLE REASON HE EXISTS. Otherwise, the process was okay. We had our 2.5 year old and they let us bring up her little backpack with some toys. We were shushed by security a couple times, which was, well, infuriating, but we got through it.

Does anyone know where to get a COVID booster for a 2-year-old in Ontario?
-
Where is the link to the google sheet? I'm sorry I'm not sure how to find it!

I got my interview letter today! DQ Apr 20 2023. EB1. My interview is Sept 16th!
