Hi! I relate to your dilemma as my Fiance is a US citizen and I’m Canadian. We want to get married soon and file for the CR1 but just curious what your husband told the US border agent when he crossed the border to get married in the US? I am planning to do the same but scared that I might get denied at the border with marrying intent and just using my Canadian passport to enter although I will come back to Canada after getting married and then we start the CR1 process.

Okay got it thanks so much! I wasn’t sure if I would get in trouble or will have difficulty in the future of re-entering the border when I visit next or once we start processing CR1 as they might think I misuse my entry rights

Hi, I am Canadian and my Fiance is a US citizen. We are in a long distance relationship but only 4 hr drive away from the border and we see each other once a month for few days regularly. We want to get married soon and planning to go with the CR1 process rather than the K1 but I was wondering if I can just cross the border with my Canadian passport to get married in the US then come back to Canada and start processing the CR1? Or would it be easier if my American Fiance will just come in Canada and get married here instead?
