I did notice ours was very late, later than usual at least. I had already submitted a service request last week but I guess that won't be necessary. I know that our case was approved since at least 8/10 when I checked online and I feel "Valid from 8/09" which is what the letter says makes more sense. I can assume once case was approved it took a day for the online tool to show the new status. I will go with what @W199 said, I'll go with notice date of 8/28 so I don't get disappointed later on.

From you, the petitioner, the fiance only needs I134 and a letter of intent. Your fiance takes I134 to the interview not I864, I-864 is for when you apply for adjustment of status with I485 don't need that yet. As for proof of income, my understand is include as much evidence as you can. So yes, W-2, pay stubs, but more importantly tax transcripts for the last year, last 3 years even better. Perhaps even bank statements or any other assets just to help out really, if you're income is well above poverty line I wouldn't worry about those. Of course depending on the country your fiance is from he/she should already be preparing the police certificate, birth certificate, passport etc, I think those are more important to focus on right now if you haven't prepared them yet, some might take a while!

I finally just got our NOA2 in the mail today but, 23 or 24 days later, is this normal? Anyway, here's what's strange. I saw our approval online on 8/10 but the notice date is 8/28 and it's valid from 8/09. I just wonder if 8/28 is the date I should start my NVC countdown from, I'd appreciate your input!

Congrats, told you, before labor day! -
Oops I forgot the question about passport pictures, as far as I know it's all about the fiance from now on (the beneficiary), including pictures. Only the I134 and its supporting documents are on you. Again, I just read and research, I'm no expert. I would like people here to correct me if I'm wrong!

Technically the DS160 is filed by the person receiving the visa, aka your fiance, but I don't see a problem you filling it on his/her behalf, and I suspect alot of the time that's the case. And if the beneficiary has children a DS160 needs to be filed for each child for K2 visas, as well as a separate visa fee for each. As mentioned by someone above, embassies are different, I hear some let the petitioner attend and some don't, I also hear some schedule the interview for you as opposed to you scheduling it yourself. But my point is you don't really need to be home for any of this as long as you or your fiance have access to all required documents.

I have a strong feeling you'll get your approval this week, before labor day! -
I'm new to the process myself as I got my approval 2 weeks ago, but I've been researching forever it seems and I'll tell you what I understand, others can correct me if I'm wrong. As the petitioner all you'll do is wait until the petition reaches the NVC and then the embassy/consulate. That's when you'll get the ready status, that's when you can schedule interview, start filling DS160, medical, etc. I don't think you'll need to be home for any of that but make sure you or your fiance have all the required paperwork and supporting documents for I134 before you leave. Best of luck!

Congrats, this is good news! AFAIK RFIE and RFE are almost the same. Someone here can correct me if I'm wrong but an RFE is probably them asking for further evidence than you've already provided. You probably forgot to include some required supporting documents. Hopefully in a few days you'll know what exactly. Best of luck! -
90 days to wait for NOA2 in the mail? Perhaps you mean 90 days to receive your case number from NVC. I was under the impression that it only takes a few days to get NOA2 in the mail. You should worry about it but perhaps not yet, I'm not entirely sure how true it is but it seems you might need it for your AOS petition later on. It's been 2 weeks now for us, I'm guessing USCIS never printed/shipped it, either that or lost in the mail.

You're overthinking it. I was in your situation a couple of weeks ago, I know the pain. I've said this before and I don't want to bore you, but here's my theory. USCIS just doesn't have a good process in place so it's not FIFO, has never been, just random. Don't assume petitions that are taking longer to process have issues, not true at all. Don't think just because your petition took longer than others you have issues. I've seen petitions with issues get processed way before mine even though they were filed after me. Trust me, nothing you said above will disqualify you, at worst you'll get an RFE. Hang in there! -

I'm sure you'll get it soon. Might take it a littler longer but I'm going to give it 2 weeks max and you'll have your approval. You know it does feel your got your RFEl way before us, makes me glad we got the approval right away and not an RFE although I'm not sure what would they RFE us for. I used to be like I don't care if it's an RFE, I just want to see movement. Now that I think about it an RFE can easily add a month to the process which sucks. Hang in there! -

I feel you, we were in the last 5% of June before we got our approval. I don't want to trash USCIS's process again, actually I do but I'm not going to. Don't worry you'll get your approval eventually, hopefully within the next couple of weeks! -

Don't worry. They approved many before me and many after me and weeks before me. You're fine, it's USCIS being silly and not having a good process in place. Your time will come, good luck! -

Thank you, I did apologize because I realized my reply to @Ok-Mix might make them feel I took their response negatively, I assure you I didn't. I'm not worried, I'm just angry. I honestly don't mind people being positive, I'm positive myself and I try to spread positivity but in no way, shape, or form am I going to defend an unfair process. I'm quite aware we'll eventually get our approval but it's already late and even if I get the approval today I'll still be angry with USCIS because there are others waiting. I'm still interested to know if there are any June filers here that are still waiting for their NOA2 here on this thread. I assume I'm the only one since no one has answered yet. Anyway best of luck to all. -

I do remember you mentioning what you thought your RFE was about in one of your posts earlier. Getting the documents really takes until mid August? Anyway I'm sure you'll get the approval a week or two at most after your fiance submits the documents. Best of luck to you and thanks for your daily updates, it helps those of us that are still waiting! -

I appreciate the motivation and I wasn't trying to say anything negative about the comment itself, if that's how it came across I apologize that was not my intention. Please don't read the rest of this post unless you don't mind listening to me complain!! As for USCIS and the way they process petitions, I meant what I said, I'm beyond being positive. I see no excuse for them to adjudicate July and August petitions when there are almost 800 from June and May alone pending, not to mention those poor petitioners from earlier months. I know I said this before but I want to emphasize this point once again. In the early days I did think that USCIS had a good reason for delaying some petitions but I have come to realize they have none. Petitions are being left behind for no good reason. In short here's what I was trying to say, if you are one of the unlucky ones you may end up waiting a few weeks or even months. Right now petitions that were filed 2 months after me are already getting approvals. I wish I knew a good way to make noise so I would get their attention but I don't. USCIS tells me I can't even send an inquiry until January 30, 2024, I mean seriously? It's not really just about me, I don't want to sound selfish and I apologize for being angry but I am and wont' lie about it. I'm sure you will understand, it's tough being away from your loved one counting every second. I apologize for my rant, I needed to let some of my anger out before it killed me. -

K1Sam replied to madmanmike's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Thanks for the reply but perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I'm asking if any June filer here on visa journey, those that maybe follow this thread, that are still waiting for NOA2. Sorry, the days of me being positive are over, I'm well aware of how many pending cases there are from June, and even January of 2022. Last year I thought those cases that took forever to adjudicate had some problems, perhaps missing supporting documents, or petitioners with legal issues or multiple filers, etc. You get the idea. It's clear to me now, and not just from my petition, that the USCIS has a very random and mysterious process in place and none of that matters. Unless you think it's OK for a January 2022 filer with no issues and all the supporting documents to still be waiting because "sure they leave no one behind". Forgive me for being brute, but I'm not very happy about this nonsense at the moment. -

Is any June filer here besides me still waiting for NOA2? I just wonder, I know I can already assume we were left behind.
