  1. Processes pertaining your application (i.e. background checks). Usually an embassy keeps your passport if they expect processing to be relatively quick. It's the only indicator we have. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do right now is wait (as far as I know).
  2. Usually when nothing is asked, it means that some processes of the embassy have not been finished and it is nothing you can influence (otherwise, they would have asked you to provide it). Did the embassy take your passport?
  3. It really is nothing to worry about. My approval took 222 days. Don't look at the approval estimates, it'll only ramp up your anxiety (as it did for me and I regret looking at it so much).
  4. Which was not an answer to the question you posed - I was trying to stick to the subject. I'm convinced you've already made up your mind. I wish you all the best!
  5. Hi OP, you asked if people on this forum believe whether it’s worth it to fly to Manila to be part of the tourist visa interview. The general consensus seems to be no. You can try, though. Who knows, you might be lucky. Either way, you got your answer. lets move it along, y’all
  6. Even though I'd give the beneficiary another chance, I'd be very critical of this situation. Not only due to missing the interview, but also the concerning situation where the beneficiary in question is starting a new food business a few months before leaving the country and their business behind? This is a confusing course of action to me - unless the business in question is immediately taken care of by someone else and the beneficiary acts as an angel investor of sorts. OP, please be very careful and weigh your options.
  7. If you are referring to the embassy specific instructions ( see here for Frankfurt ), all the required documents on that list refer to the beneficiary, except the I-134 (Declaration of FInancial Support) and the evidence required for that form.
  8. Vaccinations will be checked during the medical exam. If the vaccines are not complete, the doctor offers to administer the required vaccines. So you get the vaccines during the medical which is usually before the interview (but not always).
  9. Approval after interview can take a few weeks, so this looks like a normal situation.
  10. The tourism visa allows "short recreational course of study" , "for example, a two-day cooking class while on vacation". Since the classes don't amount to any form of certification and are free, I'd say she's fine.
  11. No, that should be fine. As long as the name on the reservation is matched with the person identifying themselves at check-in, you're good.
  12. Verify that your partner has put your name on the reservation as American hotels are strict about identification. Your name must be on the reservation and you must identify yourself if your partner isn't there with you to check in.
  13. It depends on your embassy. Some schedule it for you, others let you schedule it.
  14. Our petition was approved without providing any chats. You should be fine without them, provided you show hard evidence of having met (which is the threshold of the i-129f petition). KJ2024 has pointed out the best evidence.
  15. What the other users are saying on the forum is the point I tried to make (but I clearly didn't do it well enough): The amount of time you get to marry after entering the USA on a K-1 visa is, and always will be, 90 days. The amount of time you have to enter the USA is 179 days after your medical exam (provided you have a valid K-1 visa in your passport).
  16. Your medical check is valid for six months from the time it was performed. You need a valid medical check and a k1 visa to enter the country. From the moment you enter the USA you have 90 days to marry and file for your adjustment of status. At this point, the validity of the medical examination does not matter anymore.
  17. You wait until you get your NOA2. Read the guides on this website. It’s very helpful.
  18. I believe she will be alright. As long as she gives honest and clear answers, there is little to worry about. Her history shows compliance with the law after an overstay, with the overstay being under exceptional circumstances. They have all the documentation they need to make an informed judgement. She will probably be questioned about the situation, but there is nothing to hide.
  19. No problem. Just make sure that you get the physical NOA1!
  20. File a new petition as if you're starting all over again.
  21. This is the digital equivalent of your NOA1. The petitioner (us citizen) should also get the NOA1 in snail mail. As this message has been there since June 10th it might be a good idea to contact USCIS.
  22. This is the correct answer. The instructions tell you to skip the questions.
