  1. Got an email from NVC this morning and eagerly opened it to find that it wasn't DQ but invalid docs. My original birth certificate and Indian police certificate have been rejected. Unable to understand the reason as the explanation is generic and says only to replace with a correct one. Another document has been moved to additional docs and accepted but the category under which I submitted it has been restored to the mandatory documents saying Missing. No explanation given. So frustrating. Now I'm wondering how to resubmit to get DQ and how long they will take to review again once I resubmit
  2. Hi, how did you upload the explanation letter? In Additional Documents? Or in the comments while uploading the document?
  3. Also, if I resubmit the same documents (these are originals and the only ones I have), with an explanation in the comments, Would it be sufficient? Or do I need to write a letter explaining and upload it as an additional document? What would you advice?
  4. Hello, I had my birth certificate and India police certificate rejected by the NVC. The notes are a standard response saying please upload an acceptable doc from correct authority. I've checked the reciprocity page before submitting and did it again after this was received. My original birth certificate has the name, date, signature, seal and was dated a few days after my birth. I really can't figure out why it was rejected. My police certificate has all the details and the police commissioner's signature and seal as well. Has anyone faced these? What did you resubmit and how did you get DQ after that? It seems even on this forum people ask the questions and then once they get DQ, they disappear without sharing what they did differently to succeed. Please help if you have any tips.. thanks!
  5. Finally got the documents all in order and sent in the AOS and civil documents today. How long does it usually take to get documentary qualified? From what I remember, folks on this thread took about 5 days right?
  6. Yes one of the USC's parents will be a joint sponsor. But we hope that we will qualify anyway due to both the petitioner and beneficiary having savings equal to about 3 times the poverty requirement figure
  7. Thank you sir. It will be atleast 2 months more until the first pay stub which will subsequently delay the submission and interview and my relocation as well. That's why we want to proceed as soon as we can
  8. So spouse's income should be 0 even though there is an employer written in the job field?
  9. Hello, we're currently living abroad (me the beneficiary and my spouse the USC). Since we've been waiting for the visa processes to reach a certain stage, we're both still working and earning income abroad. Once we get the interview date my spouse will relocate back to the states and once my interview is done I will follow. However we're having trouble filling out the i864. In my case, I don't think my foreign income will continue after my relocation so I will enter only value of assets. However in my spouse's case, she is about to get hired in America and she is a couple of weeks away from quitting her foreign job. While filling the i864, should we mention her Current Annual Income as the amount she earns abroad now converted to dollars? Or does that stay blank? We don't think we want to wait for the American job to send her a contract as it may take a week or so and we really want to process the i864 and ds260 without delaying further. Please advice how you solved this foreign income situation if you faced it previously too!
  10. For those who have are at the NVC stage or passed it, how did you fill.in the I864? On the pdf or by printing and writing by hand? There are many responses like my phone number's international code or my address with hyphens which it doesn't allow on the pdf form. So I'm wondering if I do it by hand if they will reject it anyway because it doesn't match when they type it out. And then how does one sign? Print out and sign by hand? Please let me know how you all got through these steps. Thank you!
  11. 22/May/2023 nvc priority date. Received the login details and paid the fees. Waiting for forms to open up so we can fill them and Waiting for police certificates to come through
  12. Sorry I was unclear in my previous post. It seems the i130 noa1 date is the priority date. Any idea where we can see which priority date NVC is processing? Although ours in 23/May/2023, the i130 after RFE was approved on 24/Jun/2024 but we still haven't received anything from the NVC
  13. How did you find out your priority date? I looked but couldn't find it on the i797. I can only.see the uscis case approved date
  14. Hello everyone, I read through the requirements for Japan Police Certificate and it has a few requirements which I can fulfill but I had a couple of questions if anyone has gone through it before.. 1. Case number - do they need a NVC case number to process the PCC? I only have the receipt number from the I-130. Even the NOA2 I downloaded from myUSCIS only has IOExxx receipt number. So must I wait for the NVC letter? I am worried this will cause a delay in the process.. Or can I proceed with the IOExxx receipt number? 2. Request letter - is the Tokyo embassy immigrant visa checklist sufficient for this or would I have to call the embassy and ask for a letter? Thanks for your help!
  15. May 22, 2023 NOA1 date. We had an RFE on 18 June 2024. Replied on 23 June and approved 25 June. Texas service center. Even though the tier 1 reps told us Potomac on several occasions, every single communication we received was from Texas.
  16. Thank you so much for your replies. It did indeed tick over a day later and we got the email on 25th June. For future reference, there seems to be a lag with USCIS taking an action and the online page updating but it's nothing to worry about.
  17. Hello VJ members. We're facing a strange situation so thought I'd ask if anyone faced something similar or knows the answer. Timeline is below. Rfe requested: 18 June 2024 Rfe replied online: 23 June 2024 Status changed to Recieved evidence: 23 June 2024 Status changed to actively reviewing again: 24 June 2024 Here's the confusion. In our documents tab there is a pdf called i130 approval that says the i130 was approved on 24 June 2024. However there has been no email yet and the case status still says "USCIS is actively reviewing your case" What does this mean? Are we approved and there's an administrative time lag? Or something else? Appreciate any advice you have.
  18. Hey did you have any luck with the waiver? Or did you find a vaccine anywhere in Tokyo?
  19. An update to my question: it's been 3 days since the RFE info and there was nothing in the mail. However now it has been uploaded in the documents tab of the myuscis page. There also appears to be a Respond button but we haven't explored that yet until we've collected our responses and are ready to submit. For future reference to filers: Yes, the RFE is available on your myuscis page but takes about 2 biz days to upload. And it does look like electronic response is possible and postal mail may not be necessary
  20. Thank you! But from those who've experienced it - is the RFE by paper only or also available online in some way?
  21. Thank you! We are overseas so we won't be able to respond the same day if it's paper mail. Is there a way to get it online? There's nothing on the myuscis page and the live chat with emma doesn't seem to want to connect me to an agent
  22. Hello! We applied on May 22, 2023. We've just received a notification of RFE but there isn't any document on the uscis page. Is it sent only by post and do they expect a reply only by post?
