2 questions about civil documents
n.samuraibear replied to mico1989Athens's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
I put in N/A for every field i didn't fill in just to eliminate the chance of them saying it's an incomplete application. For some of the forms which were filled on pdf like i130 and i864 I left them blank and then hand wrote N/A since we need to print and sign by hand, then uploaded the scan of that as the final document -
2 questions about civil documents

1. As long as there is a translation, it should suffice. No need of apostille. I don't have experience specifically but anecdotes suggest that a professional/official translation is asked for sometimes. To eliminate worrying about it, I'd get an official translation with the translators credentials if I were you 2. Transcripts are supposed to be enough and you can get DQ with that. However they do ask for W2 later during the interview so if you have it, upload it -
Impact from elections
n.samuraibear replied to n.samuraibear's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
It's fine for assumptions. As I clearly stated, I was seeking opinions or ideas from previous experience. There is no way anyone can give the right answer at this moment, if there even is one. To focus the discussion more - my question wasn't whether the legality could change since that could take well into next year for a new president to implement. The idea was more to gauge what you thought the attitude of CBP officers might be, knowing that a change of policy or mindset was imminent.. Again, please give your opinion and no need to convince anyone or debate. Varied opinions add to the discussion quality -
Not sure if this is the right section but I was wondering about the impact of the elections. Nov 5th is right in the window of possible entry and was wondering if planning to enter before or after would have any impact. I know there are no right answers and nobody can know but just asking for opinions from knowledgeable folks who've seen many election cycles.

Hello, At the time of i864 submission we submitted the petitioner (temporarily abroad, no US income but some savings) and a joint sponsor and got DQ. Now as interview approaches, the petitioner has a job in the US and sufficient income. Should we delete the joint sponsor and informthe interviewer? Should we add additional docs like the contract and pay stubs (only 1 available so far) to the ceac portal? I'm worried it will affect the DQ and restart the clock..

Thanks for your reply my friend. My question is more specific and to anyone who has already attended interviews. These notices are uscis notices and not proof of marriage. So if anyone has had them ask to show the original i130 NOA1 and i797 please let me know if they're necessary to bring to the interview

Hello VJ members, Every day a new doubt comes up and we want to be as prepared as possible. The i130 NOA1 and i797 approval original notices which came in the mail are in the US with my spouse. Will I need the originals while going to the embassy for my interview? I'm trying to figure it out so that they can be fedexed to me in time. Any advice is helpful. Thanks!

Hello. I just had my medical for my CR1 visa. The clinic mentioned that everything would be sent directly to the embassy and only a vaccination worksheet would be emailed to me. I showed them the note on the state gov page that says chest x rays must be carried when entering the US. However they wouldn't budge and said they don't give anything to the applicants in hand and that I should contact the embassy instead, when I go for the interview. Has anyone else faced this before? Is this the new process?

Resubmitted the following and got accepted and documentarily qualified. Birth certificate: got the original notarized and apostille Police certificate: got it issued through the embassy with their seal (probably certificate direct from the local police commissioner's office didn't match the 'issuing authority' mentioned on the reciprocity page)

May 2023 Filers I-130
n.samuraibear replied to LennyO's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Submitted docs to NVC on 11/Jul/2024, few docs rejected as I mentioned on earlier posts and received the information on 18/Jul. Resubmitted docs on 23/Jul. Accepted and DQ today on 29/Jul -

n.samuraibear replied to LennyO's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Thank you. It's confusing because they are exactly same as the ones accepted for my friends. Anyway, now I'm in the process of getting an attestation on the birth certificate and writing an explanation letter of how the police certificate matches the requirements of the reciprocity page. Hope to submit soon and praying that they will be accepted -

I mean my friends submitted the same certificates but their names and dates of birth are different from me, obviously. Otherwise everything is the same. Theirs was accepted, mine was rejected -

ALL these criteria are met! That's why it is so confusing. And I have friends who submitted exactly the same birth certificate format from the same authority and were accepted. Exactly same in every way except the names and date of birth details. 2 other police certificates - from Japan and UK were accepted without issues. -
