Wollt mich auch nochmal melden, mit extremst viel Stress (Lufthansa sei Dank) sind wir mittlerweile in Virginia. Die Einreise über Atlanta war wirklich sehr locker und jetzt schauen wir mal, was Virginia so bringen wird 🙂

With the Frankfurt embassy I was notified by UPS but not by the embassy that they had sent the passport.

Sorry, dass ich mich erst jetzt melde, gab allerdings den sterbenden Schwan 😞 Also die Security am Eingang war typisch unter aller Kanone. Der gute Mann muss wirklich an einem Gottkomplex gelitten haben. Aber die Leute, die mit dem Visa an sich zu tun hatten waren alle sehr nett und bemüht. Im ersten Schritt musste ich die benötigten Papiere (Pass, Geburtsurkunde und Heiratsurkunde) abgeben, im zweiten Schritt wurde dann dass Interview durchgeführt. Das Interview war kurz und schmerzlos. Sie wollten wissen wie wir uns kennengelernt haben, ob wir Kinder haben, wann wir in die Staaten wollen. Also kein Hexenwerk und nichts was man verinnerlichen muss. Wir werden voraussichtlich in 4 bis 6 Wochen gehen, aktuell warten wir auf HR om neuen Job meines Mannes. Sobald da alles durch ist werden wir uns dann verabschieden. Bezüglich des Verschiebens des Termines kann ich nicht wirklich was sagen, da ich dies nicht tat.

So ihr Lieben, nochmal vielen Dank für all die Unterstützung, die ich hier erfahren durfte, es ist offiziell! Das Visa wurde approved.

Eigentlich recht tiefenentspannt, mag aber auch an den Überresten meiner Männergrippe liegen. Aber unterm Strich erfüllen wir alle Vorgaben (mein Mann hat jetzt auch eine Zusage für einen neuen Job obwohl sein Retirement von der Army die Poverty Line gut übersteigt), wir führen eine normale Ehe, .... also wird es schon schief gehen. Ich halte euch auf dem Laufenden!

Hallo Chelsea, wenngleich ich mich gefreut habe wie Bolle, weiß ich leider nicht weshalb es bei uns so schnell ging. Was ich mir vorstellen könnte sind die bald 28 Jahre Ehe, die vorangegangene Green Card oder einfach nur Glück. Ich drück dir auf alle Fälle die Daumen, dass es bei euch auch so schnell geht, denn das Warten ist mörderisch. Man wartet und wartet, dann passiert was und du denkst dir: Jetzt geht es los, nur dass dann wieder wegen irgendwas nicht weiter geht. Ich weiß, dass die Warterei einen mürbe macht, aber ich für mich stellte fest, dass es mir besser ging als ich nicht mehr mit religiösem Eifer verschiedenste Webseiten abgeklappert habe. So ein bisschen ausklinken, soweit möglich, ist definitv hilfreich. Ich wünsche such allen auch einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr und ein tolles 2024.

I am trying to register for the delivery of my passport after the Visa interview took place However, when I enter my case number XXXXXXXXX at GTS Premium and then select Germany, I always receive an error message stating that the number is either invalid or does not belong to the selected country (Germany). Accordingly, I am unable to register for delivery of the passport. Anybody know of a work around for this? I am using the number after the FRN for Frankfurt, maybe I am using the wrong one? At any rate, I would be grateful for any suggestions/help. Thanks in advance.

So, habe gerade meine Einleitung zum Interview erhalten. Es hat exakt 4 Wochen gedauert bis das Schreiben ankam und das Interview findet am 02.01.2024 statt, also in knapp 5 Wochen. Vielleicht hilft es ja jemand anderen, der wartet.

Also NVC sagt das Folgende: NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in FRANKFURT, GER to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner, and attorney (if applicable). Laut anderen Foren würde es feste Termine geben an welchen die IL versandt werden .... aber gut im Warten haben wir ja alle Übung 🙂 Ist halt nicht meine Stärke!

Weiß von euch zufällig jemand wie oft die Botschaft in Frankfurt Interview Letter versendet, also in welchem Turnus. Im Endspurt geht mir gerade die Geduld aus 🤨

The US General Consulate in Frankfurt does indeed issue I-551s (Greencards) for dependents of active military members. It would definitely not fall into the jurisdiction of Germany as military members stationed in Germany are not accounted for. They are not registered, international students or about to hold jobs on the economy etc (all required for residency). Hence, spouse wants indeed join OP on US base (which one could argue is US territory)? Doesn't that require that the spouse is on the military orders? Additionally when we PCSed to Germany in 2004 as a German citizen I had to have a medical in the US to see if I am eligible to travel on my husbands orders and be command sponsored. I really hope you will manage to get your wife to Germany, but I think it is not so easy.

Wir sind auch etwas geschockt, aber wie heißt es so schön, die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt. Und wenn man sich die I-130 anschaut, scheinen die aktuell bisserl schneller zu gehen als letztes Jahr um die gleiche Zeit.

Wir sind momentan am warten auf Frankfurt, wurden am 01.11.2023 DQed. Wir sind recht froh, da unser I-130 recht fix ging. Wir haben es am 20.04.2023 eingesandt und wurden schlussendlich am 18.08.2023 fürs I-130 approved. Drücke die Daumen, dass es bei euch auch so schnell geht.

Well we just got DQed! Now to see how long they take to schedule the interview at Frankfurt. But already made the appointment for the medical. Who would have thought that I actually might get done this year. So thankful for the speed with which I went through this process so far.

We really did not submit a whole lot after 27 years of marriage. Aside from the documents we had the wedding picture, the Alien Number from previous green card, contract for buying an apartment, registration for current apartment with the city also the rental agreement in both names, and I think that was about it. We got through the I-130 without an RFE. Oh and the cost for gas, garbage etc. for the previous year in both of our names.

If anything it would be the work history. Since it is currently so quick, we will just wait and see. I do appreciate the suggestion though!

With the I-130 we got really lucky, they received it April 20th, 2023 and forwarded August 27th, 2023 to NVC. Never had an RFE, but for that part we actually used a lawyer. The first time around with green card was pre-internet and a complete utter mess 😉 Was not going through that again!

Actually they are far quicker then we anticipated. I think it was just under 3 weeks for the welcome letter, despite a wait time of 61 days according to their website. They needed another 3 days to process payment and after submitting the papers on Monday we had the RFE the same week Friday. And look I have gotten incredibly lucky on the I-130 so I refuse to complain, even if we have to write back and forth a few more times.

Well noone to blame but myself, but thanks for the answer. I guess we will be at NVC for a while. But hey, better then being stuck on the I 130.

I have just gotten an RFE for my husbands divorce degree and am now wondering if NVC checks everything and sends out all RFEs at once or if they trickle in. I am fairly certain that due to a computer hick up my employment history is not complete and therefore expected an RFE. So now the question is: would they have addressed it with the RFE for the divorce or will there be another one? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Correct, everything USCIS related went to my husband, who is the petitioner.

Not sure how it works today, but when we first got married in Germany I was able to get a military ID Card without a social, but can't remember if I had an ITIN. However we been married since 96 and still had the old ID Cards, so not sure how it works today.

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum! Military never occurred to me, as the husband is retired.

All mail went to my husband, but I received the e-mail. That might be due to setting up the USCIS account with my e-mail rather then his though. He never received e-mails.
