For anyone who's curious, it was denied. We get married 5 August, and my contract for the military ends 25 January 2025. Shortly after our marriage, I will process the paperwork for our spousal visa. I'm tracking that this roughly takes 2 years, so my contract will expire one year into the process. I will move to Brazil once my contract expires and move back to the States once the visa gets approved. To everyone who gave me advice without being condescending, thank you. I knew it was a long shot when I applied but it was less than $200 and literally took a month to get an appointment, why wouldn't I try? To everyone who was condescending and rude, you need to touch grass and do some self-reflection. Thank you regardless.

B2 was actually all three which is why I don't mind getting denied. I researched the process; I don't know why you think I didn't. The fiancé and spousal visa is not cheap though and definitely not quick which is why we're trying the tourism visa.

I proposed by then and we both figured it's better to do a spousal since we'd get married in the two years it'd take for them to approve the K1 visa.

y with a B1 B2 visa That was misleading. I want her to come to America quickly. I brought us a house, almost 2 years ago that she has never seen. I want to temporarily experience what it would be like to live with her. All of the immigration visas take forever, my goal is for her to be able to visit me while we wait 2 years for her spousal visa to get approved. Also, it's cheaper for her to come to me. I just have to pay for a flight compared to me going to her having to pay for a flight, hotel and rental car. And we eat out a lot since we're staying in a hotel. I just miss my fiancé, WE have no intention of her immigrating her illegally.

Yes, but I'm responsible. We admitted that I would be her means of being able to stay here. The Army can hold me accountable for her actions. I know to you, it makes no sense but servicemembers give up a lot of freedom.

You are correct, I will marry my spouse in Brazil and then file a spousal visa. In regard to the intent to marry, yes I'm referring to making it public for 15 days and then getting married within 90 days after, which of course means I have to fly back to Brazil very quickly. Yes, I was literally able to get an interview in 2 months, no joking. I met someone who has a girlfriend that's Brazilian and he's the one that educated me on the tourist visa and suggested it. I checked every single day and slowly moved her appointment up until it fell during the week for me to visit her. I could've got her an appointment within a week of applying but she never flew on a plane, so I wanted to be there for her first time. Unfortunately, I'm the only one that makes money. We were TOO optimistic about the visa process, so she never got a job. I don't mind it though because I do make good money, but it's very expensive to fly to Brazil. We are going to Rio for her interview to get denied, but it's exciting to travel as a couple for the first time. Maybe I'll look into the Caribbean once we're married, and she's comfortable flying.

I do believe we would get approved for K1, but I'd be an idiot to not at least try this route especially considering it's $160 and I literally have an appointment 18 May 2023 even though I submitted my application one month ago. K1 visa also took 2 years for a denial. I was very annoyed, and they weren't sympathetic about the fact that they lost my original application which would've been within that 2 year timeframe. We're getting married in July, so I will be submitting the spousal visa within the week.

Where did I say that? You are free to assume to assume that, but that's not the case. I would risk my livelihood and ability to provide for her by doing that, military law is a lot stricter than civilian law.

I understand what you're saying, and I've come to the conclusion that the visa will get denied. We did the K1 visa which was denied and a pain. We're getting married within 3 months (no dates locked in because we have to register our intent to marry). I applied for her tourist visa around 1 April 2023, with an interview date of 2 June 2023. We legitimately do plan to get married in Brazil. I am not tracking a spousal visa for Brazil. I go there in less than 10 days to register our intent to marry. Lastly, it's easy for Americans to enter Brazil. Why are you guys meetings in different countries unless you prefer it? The biggest thing is how much of a financial and time-consuming burden it is for me to go to Brazil, but I guess I have no choice.

My fiancé and I originally applied for the K1 visa, but we were denied because I didn't visit her within the past two years (COVID and I'm in the military, but I seen her in 2019). I went to visit her December 2022 and met someone who is also in a Long-Distance Relationship (LDR). He told me that his girlfriend came quickly on a tourist visa because you move the appointment date if someone cancels. I decided to apply for a tourist visa on her behalf in order to get her here quickly. Also, because it's easier for her to travel (self-employed) than it is for me and I own a home and car, so the expenses are cheaper. Now, she is 22 and just graduated from a Human Resources course. She lives with her parents and has never left the country. How do I prove that she will not immigrate to the US? Below is what I suggested she say. My family is here, and I plan to get married in Brazil. My fiancé is a Soldier, and I don't want him to get in trouble if I overstay my visa. Also, I plan to live with him one day and get a job. I can't get a job or become a citizen if I overstay my visa. I just miss my fiancé and it's easier for me to visit him, than it is for him to visit me. We plan to get married soon, but that visa will take forever to process so we also want the tourist visa so we can visit each other while a determination is made. I only plan to visit him two-three times a year because I also have a crochet business in Brazil that takes up a lot of my time. Additional Information: I seen her 2019, and twice in 2022. I will see her next week again making it 4 times total.
