  1. You can look at this spreadsheet to get some idea about the DS-5535 processing times. Please enter your info for the benefit of other members in AP (DS-5535) whenever you have time. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  2. Please enter your information in the following spreadsheet for the benefit of other members in AP. Thanks https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  3. I sent one email at the beginning and then after 3 months. Some VJ members are sending one email per month. You have to check visa status once per day(For update date change) if you are interested for 2 weeks as updates are frequent then may be once or twice in a week if you are interested.
  4. sometime folks use filter on Visa Type to look at CR1/IR1 cases. You may change it back by clicking on "Visa Type" column header (right side icon with lines) and "select all" and then click OK to bring back all entries
  5. Sorry to hear about that. Please enter your information whenever you are done with submitting DS-5535 form for the benefits of others. Thanks https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  6. Email addresses are listed on this page: https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Canada&cty=Montreal&entry=2 Second email address in the list Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov Status on Visa Status Check website
  7. We also got online form link in the email and just got this message when we submitted the form: Thanks Your response was submitted Did not get confirmation email from consulate. Consulate replied with generic message when asked about the form submission. But status was updated 5-6 times in 2 weeks after submission. That indicated they were working on our DS-5535 form etc.
  8. Some folks 221g form says "Passport" in the requested documents. I remember one case from July 2023. Those folks are still in AP. In our case, 221g (Oct 2023) says "Passport(When requested)". May be consulate have two different templates for 221g. It is confusing when they put passport in requested documents on 221g even though the case may take few months to year (DS-5535).
  9. Simple Administrative processing cases like missing documents may take from 4-8 weeks or more for Montreal. If consulate is vetting you for SOA (Security Advisory Opinions)/DS-5535. It may take few months to more than year. You may look at following spreadsheet for Montreal to get an idea: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0 If you need to travel soon, i would suggest to keep your passport. If you send them now, then you can always request consulate to send your passport back. Note: They need your passport for visa stamping only and it will not be done until you are cleared.
  10. if you were given a link to "U.S. Department of State Supplemental Questions for Visa Applicants Montreal" asking for 15 years travel history, 15 years employment history, addresses etc. then it is online version of DS-5535 form introduced in the last year (July onward i guess). Passport is normally mail to consulate once you are cleared from AP (DS-5535).
  11. Same here (Interview in Oct2023) but in IR category if you were interviewed in Montreal, please enter your information for the benefits of others: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  12. If someone is interested in reading comments in response to state department "Proposals, Submissions, and Approvals: Supplemental Questions for Visa Applicants"(https://www.regulations.gov/docket/DOS-2023-0028/document) posted last year, here is the link: https://www.regulations.gov/docket/DOS-2023-0028/comments
  13. If CO serve you a 221g because of incorrect police report, then you will have to wait for 4-6 weeks or more after submission of correct report to get visa stamp. MTL is very slow if visa is not approved at the spot. Your application will eventually go to the consular review queue once your documents are received by consulate.
  14. Not sure the What difference it makes: "For Active Criminal Record" vs "Other" Our is same as above image. May be some other VJ member comment on it
  15. You are good- We have the same form and was accepted by consulate too.
  16. You are good (Type of Criminal Record Check for Personal Use: For Active Criminal Record)->NVC suggests to get report for Personal Use. Yo can check it from NVC country specific document web site (Canada)
  17. You form will be OK if it is issued by RCMP and says To whom it may concern: Your application for personal information held in the National Repository of Criminal Records has been processed. No personal information about you was found in the National Repository of Criminal Records.
  18. You need police certificate from RCMP (that search your record in National Repository of Criminal Records) Your application will go into Administrative Processing(221g) after interview and that would delay the visa issuance
  19. (last five years) Really - DS-5535 is specifically designed for 15 years travel, employment, address history. 5 years information is already included in DS-260. Just vetting the resume is taking so much time?
