  1. We got 5 unsolicited updates in 3 weeks duration and received the request for medical and passport. The clearance was infact received on first update. Rest of the updates seemed to be related to internal review by consulate
  2. I know I can just cross border with Canadian vehicle and keep it in US up to one year without US registration. Can we properly import vehicle without compliance letter using import forms? Our Canadian vehicle has safety recall related to fuel injectors and the Honda USA refused to issue compliance letter until it is fixed and Honda Canada does not parts inventory since 1 year and they are not ready to fix problem if the vehicle is running fine.
  3. You do not need to update any travel history after the submission of DS-5535 nor it will delay your processing. Keep the thing simple.
  4. Yes, We crossed the border and returned to Canada earlier this year because 2nd visa was in AP. The green card was delivered to the US address but SSN was not delivered beside we checked the option in the DS-260 form. So we had to go to SSN after 5 weeks(On next visit to US) to get it (SSN# was available from same office next day) and later physical card was delivered to US address
  5. You will receive the case update as soon as doctor office upload your results. In our case, doctor's office uploaded results 4 days after medical and our case date was updated same day (Saturday) as we received the confirmation email from doctor's office same day.
  6. Bank rates seems to be much lower than the exchange companies CAD->USD. We seems to be losing 3-4% of money if we use our bank for exchange. Would bank give us the better rate if we are transferring a large sum of money from property sale? Anyone has prior experience getting better rate with the bank?
  7. Thanks for the reply. Have you done big transaction with this company in the past and how are their exchange rates as per your research?
  8. What is the best and safest way to transfer money in CAD to USD after selling property in Canada? Which Canadian/US bank is the best for cross border transfer?
  9. I remembered one VJ member submitted his Pakistani passport to consulate for visa and was put in AP. He used his Canadian passport for travelling. Visa was stamped on his country of origin passport. There will be no issue if the visa is issued on other passport and you use Canadian passport for travelling.
  10. AI and Robotics is the reason for Resume and DS-5535 is given due to your country of chargeability and being male applicant(if applicable)
  11. In our case CO did not ask for any documents related to AP. Just told us to wait for the email.
  12. Now a days case is cleared in one unsolicited update from State Dept. Some folks are getting passport request next day after first unsolicited update. Rest of the updates if any are related to consulate internal review of the case. Our case was cleared in the third week of June as per annotation on visa but we received passport request email in the first week of July after 4 more unsolicited updates.
  13. In our case, consulate did not ask for new photographs although pic they scanned during interview were older than 6 months. We sent them new photographs without asking them and they put the same on visa. Hope this will help
  14. Definitely, you would need new medical unless there is change in medical validity rules. Visa expiry date is exactly 6 months after your medical date
  15. Just login to your usvisa-info account that you set up before interview. They have instructions on how to send your passport to consulate and you can also change passport return address using the same site: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/users/sign_in
  16. Hi everyone! Quick update! ! We received our passport with visa stamp today Documents Sent: July 8 CEAC says Issued: July 17 Thanks and hoping other VJ members in this long journey hear the good news soon!
  17. It does not seem to be consulate issue. It is also confirmed by @cala2023 also. May be book an appointment with Toronto doctor and bring everything with you like vaccination records etc.
  18. You can upload the birth certificate and marriage certificate with different surnames. Once approved you need to follow country specific list for civil documents. I believed you need only birth certificate and marriage certificate(including English Translation for both if applicable) of your mother at I-130 stage. I would not upload mother passport if not asked for. Other civil documents are required once your case is sent to NVC stage after I-130 approval.
  19. Are you located in Ontario? May be different clinics have different procedures to handle appointments for re-medical. I still feels this issue should be handled by doctor's office. Their system is integrated with consulate medical result receiving system and we know nothing about it. Also there were no instructions in the document request email other than the link to the list and addresses of panel doctors. Sending email to consulate by you might speed up the appointment process. Best of luck
  20. We booked the appointment with same clinic and they were able to accommodate us this week and medical was quick as they already got vaccinations and other record from last year medical. They will redo the X-ray and blood work. Doctor's office told us that they will send our Medical results electronically to consulate next week. Doctor did not mention anything if their system needs updating. You need to email/show them Medical request email only.
  21. You may get email in a week if you got 3 or more updates in 2-3 weeks. But no of updates vary case by case.
