I am a joint sponsor for a relative who is in the process of applying for an immigrant visa. I had a change of address, so I filed an I-865. In response, USCIS sent me an I-797C. What I find confusing is that it lists my name as both the petitioner and the beneficiary. Should my relative appear as the beneficiary? If so, is this a serious concern? I don’t see anything on the I-797C that connects it to my relative’s name, case number, or invoice ID.
I called the number provided for making corrections, but it was impossible to reach a person.
