  1. I think it could be administrative process they do for most application since there is a big gap between the time of application and visa interview. Mine got approved really fast so its nothing to worry about for EB1 and EB2-NIW.
  2. Today got email that I should mail passport so it was really quick like 2 weeks. Just administrative process. Like I said, the CO was very nice and told me it should not take that long.
  3. The CO was very nice and said since my visa category was EB2-NIW, which is needed for USA, he will prioritize my application so I hope I will get my passport stamped with the visa within 2 weeks.
  4. Was in Canada for 2 years due to Covid. Plus I do not come from a country that is black-listed by USA. Thus, I doubt this is the case. It could be just normal procedure. The DS-5535 wants list of all siblings and update any information since I filled up my application so I think its normal procedure.
  5. Yes it was DS-5535.
  6. I got my interview for EB2-NIW yesterday in Montreal, Canada. I think Montreal mostly does immigrant visa. When I got there, there was one family ahead of me and they had like 4 huge bundles of documents. I only carried few documents so was worried I did not bring enough. The visa process took like 2 hours. First security and they gave a laminated small yellow sheet that states we need original marriage certificate, birth certificate, police certificate, and divorce certificate. It also states financial documents. This yellow sheet is for general IV so the financial document does not apply for EB1 or NIW. I had to wait like 30 minutes to first be called to the window. I thought that was the interview but the first session was for submitting original documents such as marriage certificates.... They did not ask for for finanical document. Then they told me to wait. After waiting for another 30-60 min, again called to a window and this time was for scanning finger print. Then again wait for 30-60 min. Then finally called for interview. The CO was very nice. Made me take an oath that I was telling the truth. Then asked few questions such as where I studied, my field of education, where I will go in USA, etc. He only asked for my CV. I had changed my job since I applied for NIW so I said my new CV has my new employer and asked if he needed my employment letter. He said not employment letter needed, only CV. I had printed most of my NIW but only CV needed. I got worried by seeing the first family with the 4 huge bundles of documents for nothing. The CO was impressed with my publications and amount of citation. I think since I had a PhD from US university, that made it easy for the NIW application. For my NIW application, I did not submit one reference letter. My lawyer said not needed and reference letter is the last thing they look at. The CO said he will process the visa and next sete is the administration process so he handed me back my passport and said to complete some forms online and again ship the passport to the consulate. I thought this was unusual as they are supposed to keep the passport.
  7. Congratulations @appleblossom on your successful interview. Thanks also for posting details on your interview as it's very useful for us. Wish you the best on your endeavors.
  8. Yes, I got police certifications for me and my wife. I submitted DS-260 about 2 weeks before mailing Civil Documents. Wondering if it’s b/w problem or I printed on both sides of the paper or they simply did not receive my Civil Documents on time.
  9. Hello, I got my I-140 approved on March and I already paid my IV. I submitted my Civil Document on April 30 and got response from NVC saying, "NVC will not review these documents until we receive the required civil documents for each intending immigrant.". I think I submitted all required Civil Document but I think there might be some error so hope you can help me on this topic. The way I submitted my Civil Document for me and my family was: Used only 1 Document Cover Letter for me and my family. Do I need to use separate Document Cover Letter for me and my family? Photocopies are in b/w. Do I need to submit color photocopies? Police certificate only submitted translation. Do I need to submit original (non-English) police certificate? If some documents were in English and did not require translation, do I need to explain this? If anybody got response from NVC stating problems in Civil Document, would greatly appreciate if they can provide their experience and how they solved it. Thanks, SJoshi
  10. I have a police report from China where I lived in 20 years ago. That police report from China was issued 10 years ago. After I left China 20 years ago, I have never gone back. Will this police report still be valid for NVC or do I need to make a new one?
  11. I got my NIW EB2 approved. Now processing NVC from Montréal Canada. Step 3 in DS260 says I need petitioner financial documents. Who should be the petitioner and what documents they need to supply?
  12. Hello, I got my NIW EB2 approved and now I have to mail in my documents to NVC. The document cover letter has three sections that I need to mail: 1. Document Cover Letter 2. Photocopies of Supporting Documents 3. Signed Affidavit of Support(s) 4. Other supporting document Do I have to submit any Signed Affidavit of Support(s)? Mine is NIW EB2 so can I mark Not Applicable? Thanks. Sujan
