  1. My wife's came in 3 days (March 10). No criminal records of any kind on either of them. Strange why one takes less than a week and the other 8.5 months.
  2. Well today marks 8.5 months and I just got an email from RCPM saying my background check is now complete and has been mailed out. Submitted to RCMP on March 7. That's some crazy long wait times.
  3. Well today marks 7 months officially with no answer or update from RCMP. Applied for background check on Mar 7. It's now Sept 8. Every time I email them, I get the same answer back.. it's in progress and will be mailed to the address on file.
  4. Well today marks 6 months officially with no answer or update from RCMP. Applied for background check on Mar 7. It's now Aug 9. Every time I email them, I get the same answer back.. it's in progress and will be mailed to the address on file.
  5. Submitted March 7. Tomorrow will be July 7. Still nothing.
  6. March 7. I was thinking of just submitting another one too.
  7. 2 days ago I got another email response.. still working on it and cannot say when it will be complete, they said. same response every time. i email them every monday.
  8. I was convicted under the Youth Offenders Act. That's not supposed to show up on the RCMP certified record check. My wife had numerous (5 or 6) convictions under the Youth Offenders Act. She was on the street living homeless at 11 years old. Nothing showed up on her RCMP certified record check. It's been since March 7 to answer your other question.
  9. We both have youth records. Hers was fast. Mine is not. Not sure if having a record has any impact, given those two examples.
  10. I had a conviction (possession of a weapon) in 1995 but that was under the Youth Offenders Act. I have spoken to 2 different policing agencies and they said that won't show up. Yes I submitted for "personal use" My wife had 4 or 5 convictions (grand theft auto, theft under $5K, etc.) also as a youth under the Youth Offenders Act in the mid 1990's. Her "for personal use" police report came back clean in a matter of like one week back in March. We filed both of them together. Every time I email them, they acknowledge my case is active but can't provide a timeline.
  11. Nothing yet.. radio silence from RCMP. Waiting since March 7
  12. Another month passed.. another month with no RCMP results. I just don’t get what’s taking MONTHS to process this.
  13. RCMP has completely stopped responding to my email status inquiries and my record check still hasn’t arrived. Strike is over, but there must be a huge backlog now.
  14. Does the PSAC strike impact the processing of RCMP Criminal Record Checks in any way?
  15. Why avoid the RFE? Just curious.. genuine question.
  16. This is brutal.. Both my wife and I sent in the fingerprints on March 5. Wife got her PC back in 3 days. My PC is still processing. I've literally emailed them 4 times and each time they say it's in processing and will be mailed to the address provided. Why did my wife's take 3 days and mine has been almost 6.5 weeks and counting. When I first applied, the agency/broker requested the wrong (non for personal use) versions. Got those back in 3 days for both my wife and I. I may have to submit I485 with the wrong ones as I'm running out of time, and let them RFE me for the correct ones. That will at least buy me some time for RCMP to send the correct one. What should I do?
  17. Applied for RMCP criminal record check for personal use. It's been almost 2 months. Curious if a Youth Offenders Act (YOA) conviction from 1995 will show up on the RCMP criminal record check personal use / privacy act.
