  1. Hi everyone, I am a permanent resident who got my green card through my second husband, an American citizen. I am already living in the US. But my kids, ages 11 and 14, stayed in my home country because their father didn't want to sign the permission to get a green card. So we filed the I-130, and we all got approved; I moved on with my process and kept them on standby. Now, their father is willing to sign the permission, and I would be able to file DS-260 for them. How long does this process take now? In my case, from the moment I filed DS-260 until I finally got the green card, it was about nine months, but what about these days in Argentina? I appreciate any help you can provide.
  2. Wow, thanks. I thought it would be something different or more specific for the occasion! That helps and simplifies things a lot.
  3. Thanks, @EmilyW , but that's not the info I am looking for. What you posted is what the Argentine authorities need to let a minor travel abroad alone or with one of their parents. What I am looking for is what the US government is going to ask me about the permission I have to obtain their Green Card by myself, given that their biological father is Argentine and living in Argentina. It is not about the Argentine authorities but the American ones when they revise their DS 260 form. Thanks anyways.
  4. Hi folks, I have some doubts on how to proceed. I am a green card holder, my husband is an American citizen. My kids (not my husband's kids!) live in Argentina. I have applied for the I -130 and they have been approved but then I put their process on hold given that their biological father didn't want to sign a consent letter authorizing them to obtain the green card too. Things have changed now and he is willing to sing the consent letter to go with DS 260 questionnaire. Can anyone please help on how that letter should be written to be accepted? Can it be somewhat vague like "I approve my kids to obtain the permanent residency" or it has to be loud and clear that he is also approving their move to the USA? Thanks!
  5. it went very well!! Smooth, quick, no hiccups! My passport is ready by Monday and from there a new life for us as we are arriving in the US on July 28. Thanks for all the support!
  6. FINALMENTE!!! FINALLY! Today I received an email inviting me to the consulate in Buenos Aires on July 5th to proceed with the interview. Thank you all for bearing with me and responding to my questions. I finally see this moving towards the end and I am super happy. Thanks!
  7. Thanks. I was hoping to have had the interview already. It's been two months since documentarily approved and no news. I check my inbox everyday, everywhere in my inbox. Thanks for the comments.
  8. Thank you. Very clarifying. So it just means I have to keep waiting for the consulate to just call me. I am desperate as I don't know how to expedite... but thanks!
  9. Hi guys!! It's me again, desperate to finally hear from the consulate that they have scheduled an interview.... I keep waiting, checking my inbox every hour. 🥺 Meanwhile, I would like to ask you about the dates people often refer to when they say that "uscis is now reviewing I 130s from May 2022", what does it mean? My Uscis receipt # refers to may 16, 2022.... is that a sign of anything at all? Thanks
  10. Thank you @Fe.Ta! I Yes, we are approved by Potomac and waiting for the Argentine Consulate to schedule the interview. I didn't know that we could actually choose the centers.... a lawyer did it for us. Actually, a piece of advice for people, at least in my experience, lawyers didn't really help in speeding anything up, unless it was about to cash their invoices.... Any piece of advice moving from here forward is highly appreciated.
  11. Hi everyone, Does anyone have any statistics about how long it takes from the moment you are "documentarily approved" until you get your consular interview in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I received my approval a month ago and am waiting and getting desperate while I wait here in Buenos Aires. I am applying for a IR1 Visa as wife of an American citizen and my priority date is Sept 18, 2021. Any data? Any advice? Thanks!
