  1. I'm definitely going to include some. It's just a matter of how many - - and also whether I bother with the Brazilians.
  2. Thanks for your take, and that makes sense. I welcome any others' perspectives as well!
  3. We are completing the I-751 form. I know it is recommended to get some notarized third-party affidavit letters. I plan to include two third-party affidavits from a friend and a family member here in the US. My question is: do you think it is important to include a couple of letters from my wife's side of the family? She is from Brazil. So we'd have to get them notarized in Brazil. Mailed to the US. And then translated. From the instructions, it looks like these affidavits are the item only that we need to include in the submission as an original document rather than a copy. Do you think this is important to get some of these affidavits from my wife's family, or can we just skip the hassle?
  4. Thanks. This makes sense. We also got an RFE asking us to redo the I-130A. This form was submitted with the I-130 online. Wondering if we need to include a copy of the marriage certificate in the RFE response to the I-130A. (Seems redudant as we included it with the I-130 and the I-130A was a part of that submission.)
  5. We received an RFE for my wife's I-485. We are using the concurrent filing (adustment of status) to also change her name to her married name. We filled out all forms with her new married name and we included a copy of the marriage certificate in the online I-130 application. However, in wondering why we got the I-485 asking us to redo the form, I thought perhaps we should have included a copy of the marraige certificate ALSO with the snail mail I-485 submission. Should we have included a copy of the marriage certificate with the I-485 subsmission as part of the process of changing her name (in addition to including it with the online I-130)? If the answer is yes, shoud the copy be a certified copy? We can include it in the mailed I-485 RFE response if necessary.
  6. The I-864 also can't be filed online, but in the RFE part of the website, it specifically has a field you can select stating you are uploading an I-864. We all agree that both the original I-485 and I-864 can't be filed online originally. The question is whether they both can be uploaded in response to an RFE. I appreciate your input as I'm not certain.

  9. Thanks for your response. Did you actually get an RFE in response to your original I-485--and did you upload a new I-485 in response to that RFE?
  10. One last point on uploading photos. See below image. Looks like this was ready-made for us to respond to this RFE with an online response. I was probably overthinking this.
