  1. No my I-824 still says in progress, not approved. I have no idea how my I-130 got sent without I-824 approval. I have heard of this happening to others. I have been on emma chat with live agents a lot. Yesterday the agent was extremely rude, unhelpful, and disconnected on me. I then called. If you say “info pass” the computer will connect you to live person. I spoke with her a while. I have many service requests that went unanswered and I expressed my concerns about that and the fact that Potomac processing times aren’t on website. She said she would send in another service request. I got 3 emails. One for the new service request and two for pending requests. Then today all the sudden I-130 was sent to NVC. Who knows what is going on with USCIS.
  2. If the embassy is shut down it is possible that they will have interview in a third country. This happened to my spouse. They gave us an option of 3 countries. Visas to the third country was pretty easy due to the countries having a deal with one another to provide services
  3. FYI, in case it helps anyone I-824 filed May,1,2023 I-130 sent to NVC today March22,2024 I-824 still in process. potomac
  4. What is wrong with trying to help someone? Why do you have to come at me like that? It isnt the first time.
  5. Jim Hacking https://hackinglawpractice.com/ If you dont hire him he at least has a ton of information on his website and Utube channel. Live Q&A at least once a week
  6. And by the way It worked for my spouse. IR1, got stuck on I-130 and I submitted I-129F. I-130 got approved and I-129F got denied on the same day. I know I already have a I-130 approved. So it probably wouldn’t work. But it would reiterate that it needs to be processed overseas and it would be filed in a different lockbox. So maybe it triggers something.
  7. I know. But sometimes submitting something gets things unstuck. just asking if anyone has tried this.
  8. According to USCIS the form can be used for the following as well https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f Spouse (K-3) and their children (K-4) to the U.S. to await the approval of a Form I-130 filed on behalf of your spouse and their children and availability of an immigrant visa. k4 is what Im looking at.
  9. According to USCIS website https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ US citizens applying for a spouse, parent or child under 21. The estimated processing time for “all service centers” is 14 months; NBC is listed as 51.5 months and “all field offices” 56.5 months. not worth starting over 😏
  10. Thanks. I might try again. at the moment I’m waiting on a tier 2 call back due to 3 service requests going unanswered. last time I waited for a tier 2 call back I wasnt called. They just emailed me and said they weren’t going to call.
  11. They rejected expedite even though they admitted to the error.
  12. I get it. everyone is frustrated with immigration. It keeps getting worse. It keeps taking longer. It seems one or another sect of ppl get through faster than others or someone just won the jackpot and gets through in record time. But the county we r from isnt safe. Its extremely hard for ppl to understand if you’ve never been. When ur worried about life and death you look at any possible way to keep someone you love alive. That is all Im doing. Just searching. Trying not to give up. Hoping that he doesnt die before the end of this.
  13. How is that judging? look. Im just asking an odd question. Sometimes odd things work. I just wanted to know if someone ever did this or knew anyone that has.
  14. would this work? https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayTypoForm.do?sroPageType=typoError&entryPoint=init I found someone on another forum that did this and it worked. Their I-824 was never processed and I-130 was sent to NVC
  15. Yes I understand that, but I know odd things sometimes get things moving. Just a thought. Ive tried many service requests, expedites, ombudsman. I cant get estimated time due to it being Potomac. It isn't listed on the website. I asked multiple agents on emma live chat and none of them can give me an estimate. Im about to have to do a writ of mandamus, but that is pretty expensive now. The thing is I didnt even need an I-824, due to my I-130 stated that I was processing out of country, but USCIS made me do it. I didnt have to do it for my spouse, but they are forcing me to do it for my stepson. IDK.
  16. Odd question. When I applied for my spouse I-130, it got stuck and I got it unstuck by using a trick that others on Visa Journey used by filing a I-129F. It worked very quickly. Im wondering if I can do the same for my stepson. It is stuck at Potomac, but with an I-824 (send approved I-130 to NVC). Any thoughts? Anyone tried this? https://www.uscis.gov/family/family-of-us-citizens/k-3k-4-nonimmigrant-visas#:~:text=You may file Form I,obtain a K-3 visa. Thanks.
  17. California is at 3.5 months. USCIS is so broken
  18. Sadly Potomac isnt listed. I cant get anyone at USCIS to tell me why or give me an estimate. Im at 10 months wait. Hope you any everyone else gets through soon.
  19. Still stuck at potomac. Ombudsman involved. USCIS told ombudsman that they needed more time. Ombudsman said no u need to make a decision. Still waiting.
  20. Im at potomac with pending I-824 since May 2023. I asked online chat agent and they told me they had no idea Potomac even moved to another building.
  21. Congratulations 🎉 wow urs was fast. Ive been waiting since May 1, 2023. It was at NBC and got transferred to Potomac. Interesting that ur I-130 got updated before the I-824
  22. Where was your I-824 at? I only ask because I filed mine May1st 2023, it got transferred to Potomac and still pending. Im trying to get a reference if possible.
  23. Im in same boat as yall are. Im at the point where I dont even care about money. Id pay more just for them to send it to NVC. My I-130 is electronic file so they should be able to click a button and send it. We have no recourse. No ability to protect ourselves. No way out. idk about yall. But when my I-130 was approved my embassy was open. Now it is closed due to the war in a nearby county. Nothing makes since. So now we have to get permission for 3rd country interview. Which most ppl think no big deal. Well yes it is because you have to wait to get permission, then wait to get a visa to that country, and pay a lot more money to get there etc. please Allah make this nightmare end.
