  1. It’s quite the slog, I would say the timeline of a year is good. We were seeing average around 200-300 days post interview. Like yourself just finding this thread, I’m sure there are many more in AP who are not on this list. So it is not the most accurate picture. But there are people getting through without filing WOM so at least that is encouraging.
  2. Hi @Toddhugh I am EB1A Visa almost the exact same timing as you. Interview May 26th, Submitted DS 5535 on June 7th. Here is our current Excel Tracking Sheet, you can see those who have got through so far. Someone who had an interview in January I believe just got their greencard in hand but no one in February that we know of has even gotten a request for return of passport yet. So we are a bit troubled by that. Please take a moment to enter your info on the sheet so we can follow along. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  3. Please whoever has gotten through recently make sure it update your spot on the tracker so that you can help everyone still waiting. If you have not added yourself to the tracker please do so. Thank you https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/htmlview#gid=0
  4. I just wanted to say it's not anyone's fault they were put on D-5535. Let's try and cut ourselves some slack and accept that this is an unfair thing that happened to us, but there will be an end to it someday. Maybe some people are flagged for nationality but I think it's very random. We were told at our meeting that it was random. We are English/French/German. Our families are several generations immigrated Canadian. We have super clean records. Our lawyer told us that he had a Canadian teacher with a perfectly clean record wait a year to go through AP after he married an American Citizen. It's helped me to try and focus on other things. (I've gone back to school for a 6 month course) It helped to do something to put the power back into our hands. We can't move until I'm done the course now. Realistically, based on our spreadsheet it will be between 200-300 days from your meeting until you get an answer. Hang in there
  5. Please check here. They have posted their timeline along with many others. Please add yours. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  6. Hi Fayisa, Please refer to the groups tracking spreadsheet. There are a few added on there that have been completed and you can see the timelines. Maximum seems to be less than two months from sending passport to receiving it back in hand. Others are quicker. Please add your dates to the tracker to help others in the future! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  7. Hi there, I see someone has gone through and changed the way the dates are listed on the group excel sheet. That's okay and should help with clarity. However, doing this may have made your dates incorrect depending on if you listed day first or month first when you first entered your dates. (for instance my DQ date changed to 2022 from 2019 and my date returned DS-5535 was 2006 from 2023) Can everyone go and check to see if your dates are still correct? Also, if someone would like to improve the sheet that is great and encouraged as it is for all of us, but I think it would be helpful to broach it to the group first so that everyone knows what is going on, can provide input on the changes, and can keep the sheet accurate. Let me know what you think Thanks! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit#gid=0
  8. Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't yet. Could you please add your case to our group excel sheet here. It’s helpful for people to see where everyone is at in the process, especially as they start getting through. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit
  9. Hi Alice, My husband and I were put into a D5535 at our interview - meaning extended processing. I am hearing it could take up to a year to process, even though the officer quotes 2 weeks at the interview.
  10. Thanks everyone who has so far filled out the spreadsheet. It would be great if we could also get some people who have already been all the way through the process (if they are still following) to add in their info as well. This will grow to be a great resource for us and those in the future who come into the group!
  11. Hello, I have created a spreadsheet for us all to use to track our progress. Another group used this type of sheet to track when their meetings would be scheduled from DQ date and it was really helpful to see approximate processing times. Please see attached online Excel Sheet. Let me know if you have any questions or think I missed anything that should be added. I've went ahead and added my information on the first line. Thanks! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jV7rzX2eCRVoEDRhOtN9a6hDoHRLNEf1P3ZGZbQ0_Dc/edit?usp=sharing
  12. Thank you for updating. Our consulate officer said we were put in AP by random so this make a lot of sense. And yes it’s totally unfair. It is helpful to know though that we are not alone in this. Good luck and here’s hoping for a speedy processing.
  13. @Superluminal Mine was just the email that we replied directly to. I’m curious, are you saying you’ve seen EB folks get through around the 90 day mark or faster than that? I am EB1A.
  14. My interview date was May 26th, we sent our form on June 7th and we updated for the first time on June 20. We didn’t get an email though.. but we didn’t inquire. I’m not sure if the updating means anything because I’ve seen others on here go through several updates and still wait months. But maybe someone else that’s been here longer can comment.
  15. Hi There, I’ve been following along silently for a couple weeks. It’s nice to be able to read everyone stories for some comfort that we’re not alone on this. My husband and I went for our interview for our EB-1A visa May 26th 2023. We had no idea the DS5535 was even an option. I knew some people got chosen for extended processing but anything I saw was the person had been refused entry to the states before. That there was a reason. For us there is no reason. Our lawyer didn’t prepare us for this possibility. It’s been 5 years since my husband started the process, he added me on his and it’s been two years for me. Our lawyer said you’re already approved so there shouldn’t be a problem. We walked into that embassy happy as clams. We assumed when answering questions just to answer simply and not extrapolate which I now think was the mistake. But usually at border crossings that’s how you answer so it’s what we did. We answered about 3 or 4 basic very conversational almost questions of the officer. She was super nice. She said, So what will you be doing in the states? My husband answers I’ll be working in the industry in LA., (I didn’t answer here and maybe I should have about my job etc but she was on to the next question) Have you been working on anything recently? Yes (listed tv show name he is working on) Have you lived anywhere outside of the US or Canada? No Where have you travelled to over the last 5 years? Listed South Africa, USA, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Portugal. My husband did most of the talking. Not for any reason it just kind of happened that way. I’m not sure if I should’ve spoke up more. She said okay I’m going to give your passports back to you. We looked shell shocked. And she said you’ve been randomly selected for extensive processing. This happens sometimes. I said something to my husband about how he answered one of the questions. She heard and said it was nothing that you said. It typically takes two weeks for processing. She said I could keep your passports but sometimes it takes longer so I’m going to give them back. That was it. We went back to the hotel and got the email in the afternoon. It took us almost 2 weeks to fill everything out because we’ve travelled a lot and I grew up in a border town and a lot of my family is in the states so I had to figure out as many times as I could every time I went to the states (usually 5 times a year or more) Plus backpacking through Europe after college and various other trips. So we sent it in on June 7, 2023. Two weeks has past and nothing. I mean I didn’t expect it since what I’ve seen on here but I think my husband wanted to be hopeful. I’m 37 and we are wanting to start a family soon. It’s so hard to do that with this looming. I think I read on here or somewhere else that someone had a baby while on DS5535 and then the embassy wanted another interview with in Montreal with the 7 month old baby present. I don’t want to complicate things more. But who knows how long this will take. I also found this company on YouTube who is made up of ex-immigration officers and it made me even more upset that I just trusted the lawyer and didn’t do more research which I usually always do crazy too much research with stuff like this. They said that when you go there the officer has never seen you case before. That if you bring extra proof and stuff in that you should find ways to give as much information as possible to the officer because they start at “this person does not deserve to be approved” and you are basically convincing them otherwise! Which I thought was insane. Why do you go through all the paperwork and approval process then? It makes no sense… and if that’s what they want more extrapolated answers then why isn’t this communicated in any way? So now we are on this waited game again. Hoping it’s going faster now post pandemic but we’ll see I guess. I was wondering has anyone started an Excel sheet for tracking everyone’s cases and dates, and approvals? I know they do that on other threads for the first part of the approval process to kind of get an idea of where they might be in the line of approvals.
