  1. Finally naturalized today. It took me writing a letter to the immigration officer who interviewed me to get my case moving. So glad to be done with uscis.
  2. So sorry you’re going through this. Out of curiosity, what does your online status say? I’m in Florida, and my FO is Montgomery, AL. My story is almost identical to yours. I had my interview on 7/11 and was recommended for approval. They were having “system issues” so they couldn’t naturalize me that day. Haven’t heard Jack from them since. I’ve tried calling, sending a letter to the FO and sending a message to USCIS via their inbox, but to no avail. They are legally obligated to give you a decision 120 days after your interview, but apparently that’s not enforced unless you take those incompetent ####### to court. Again, I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. It’s absolutely unacceptable and enraging. I feel your pain.
  3. They are required by law to render a decision within 120 days after the interview date. I would try the CIS Ombudsman and the congressperson inquiry on day 121. Don't bother calling customer service. Their customer service line is beyond useless. My case was recommended for approval on 7/11/2023 and my online status still says "interview was scheduled." The phone call was terrible. The customer service rep told me that estimated completion times for my field office was January of 2025, and that I wouldn't be allowed to inquire about my case until then, which is obviously false. In any case, good luck.
  4. Reach out to your congressperson or consider suing them. They're obligated to give you a decision 120 days after your interview date.
  5. on the options menu in the chat, scroll all the way down and it'll say "live chat." If you click on that it should connect you to a representative. Good luck getting through to an actual immigration officer. The "live chat" representatives don't know anything about your file. They're customer service representatives.
  6. None. My status still says "interview was scheduled." I tried to message them via Emma about a week ago and they told me I can't do anything until 120 days have passed since the interview. I at least got them to admit that they have it on their record that I attended the interview, but not much else beyond that. This is beyond frustrating. I'm sorry you're dealing with the same thing. It's been 7 weeks for me now.
  7. not sure if this counts since I was recommended for approval as per my N-652, but I had my Interview on 7/11/2023 and my case status still says "interview was scheduled."
  8. I had my interview on 7/11, was recommended for approval on the n-652 and there's still no online status update. This is so frustrating.
  9. If it's any comfort to you, I had a "we recommended your case for approval" on the printout after my N400 appointment on 7/11/2023, and there's still no update on MyUSCIS (it still says "We scheduled you for an interview"). Doesn't seem like either option makes much of a difference in terms of wait time for oath ceremony notice.
  10. Hello everyone, I had my N400 interview experience at the Montgomery, AL FO yesterday at 2:45 PM, and I wanted to share my experience. I arrived at 2:30, went through security, and was checked in. They had me wait in the waiting room for a few minutes before the officer came and got me. The interview itself was pretty straightforward and short. Civics questions, reading, writing comprehension. The officer told me at the beginning that they had been having "system issues" so I may or may not be able to receive same day oath, which I found surprising considering how late in the day my appointment was. Anyway, she printed out a sheet of paper saying "Congratulations, you've been recommended for approval," and sent me out to the waiting room. 20 mins later, another officer came by and had everyone follow him to another room for the oath ceremony. The security guard at the entrance collected our GCs, and we sat down and watched a couple of random videos on the monitor. Then we stood up, did the oath, and the officer then told us that only half of us would become naturalized today because the printer was messed up. They gave us back our GCs and I went up to ask when I could expect to be rescheduled for my ceremony, but all the officer would say is "we'll send you a letter." I'm worried now that my case is gonna go into USCIS purgatory and be forgotten about (since something "unusual" happened). Oh well, it wouldn't be USCIS if they didn't at least screw something up. Case status still says "interview was scheduled"
  11. Got an update from Lawfully yesterday that my interview had been scheduled for 7/11/2023. Sadly it's at 2:45 pm so even if they were doing same day oaths I doubt they'd be able to fit me in that late in the afternoon.
  12. That would be awesome! I'd be curious to hear if you guys get same day oath. I've been reading some reviews on their google page and it seems to be the case for a lot of people.
  13. Just wanted to update everyone on my case. I had my biometrics appt on 4/3/2023 and my case status immediately after changed to "we are actively reviewing your case." estimated time is down to 9 months. Interestingly enough, I got a "we have taken an action on your case" email a day AFTER my status changed. My FO is Montgomery, AL. Best of luck to all of us
  14. Thank you for this suggestion. I just checked the status of my application this morning and saw that it had changed to “biometrics has been scheduled for April 3rd.” I do wonder if the email I received immediately after submitting my application had that much of a delay.
