  1. yes i am indeed. So i just need to commence divorce from uk then Thanks for the info. Today in egypt they did say to me they will give me a letter based on ruling to confirm that my marriage has been ended and to get it stamped at the foreign affairs office in cairo and translated.
  2. Hi Long story is I am a non egyptian man. I am divorcing my egyptian spouse I went to the ministry of justice in March 2023 for a revocable divorce in absentia and got a revocable divorce also known as a Talaq (raji, ragee etc.. ), I got the certificate from the civil sector office in Abbiseya and stamped from there and then got it stamped at the foreign affairs office in Masr gadida (heliopolis) and then translated by a certified translator as per the guidance here Egypt (state.gov) I returned to the uk and now I have come back after 110 days after the Iddah ( waiting period) had ended. After 110 days I didnt take my egyptian wife back and i now went back to the ministry of justice ( also known as Lazghouly) to get the Talaq Bain (irrevocable divorce) My ex partner is refusing to come to the Lazghouly ( ministry of justice ) to do signatures for the Talaq ( Divorce ) Bain ( irrevocable ) and now the Ministry of Justice is refusing to give me a Talaq bain ( irrevocable divorce). Im wanting to get married to someone i met from the USA about almost a year ago but i cannot until i get the Irrevocable divorce . If the ministry is refusing my divorce how can i prove i tried to get the divorce if we ever decided we want to establish a life in the USA. Can i get Any letters or documents such as an islamic fatwa from the state council court in Cairo or from the Grand Al azhar mosque to say i have an Irrevocable divorce and will not be taking her back. Would that suffice for the US immigration Authorities if we ever decided to settle and establish a life in the USA. USEmbassyCairo-00045 (1) - U.S. Embassy in Egypt The State Council’s General Assembly of Legal Opinion and Legislation Departments-SIS Please can someone help guide or give me any ideas me where i go from here. It would be much appreciated. Thanks
  3. Its probably because they dont see anything wrong with their cases thats why some are getting approved quicker than others
  4. Hi Beth hope you are well. I got my first revocable divorce. I'm wondering how do I get the irrevocable divorce . I know their is a irrevocable minor divorce and a irrevocable major divorce. I want to get the irrevocable major. Can I go to the Lazoughly Ministry of justice and ask them for the irrevocable major divorce instead of having to wait another 90 days. I did see another discussion on this but it's confusing me 😕. Thanks
  5. Wow that is golden advice thanks for that Mike I'll let the USC know. If the USC still wants to file single I'll let them know I'm not prepared to do this as I don't want to be doing something that will be deemed as illegal and give me a mark against me. I truly appreciate that
  6. Hey thanks for letting me know I'll let Usc know about this thread too.
  7. Hey thanks for the reply USC is not my fiancee yet as I am still abroad. They have filled taxes for 2022 as single because I'm not living there yet. They are letting me know in advance after we get married that they will still file them as single once I am there. However I'm told by others when I apply for i485 it's going to hurt my application because we didn't file taxes jointly. 😞 I'm just researching this in advance before I go there because I don't want to mess up my application.
  8. Is their a link I can show the USC that they will get lower taxes and more money back. I thought this too
  9. Yes sadly they do but I told USC that I think it's best we file jointly as this will save any hassle later however this is the only thing they won't do. Which is kinda hurting to be honest 😔
  10. No not married yet. I'm not even in the USA yet. The USC I will marry is just telling me In advance that they will put my name on lease open up a bank account together, pay bills etc but they will file taxes separately. They are worried they will get less in tax benefits at the end of the year if they file jointly. However someone mentioned on here I can file taxes as married but file them separately. That's why I was wondering will it hurt my i485 once I'm there just so I can feed it back to the USC. My divorce in Egypt happened in the end. Thank god 🙏
