  1. It happens alot right now actually. I know two people personally who filed around the same time like me ( April) and both got theirs EAD approved the same day and the letter in the mail 2 weeks after biometrics. It is happening
  2. Wow, thank you for this! But my problem is: I don’t have a SSN. Did you get your SSN right after biometrics? How long did you have to wait for EAD after biometrics? Where are you exactly in Florida? Did my biometrics three weeks ago and unfortunately no ead yet. Although I heard of many people who got ead very shortly after. Are you adjusting from esta? Would be Interesting to know your experience and Timeline since we are both in Florida so let’s keep in touch! the funny thing is, many people who live in Florida tell me that I won’t have any problems trying exactly what you said. Seems like what’s on paper and the „rule“ often times in reality looks different. Not saying that it will work for me, just saying that I noticed that talking to people who actually live here, „rules“ just seem to be rules on paper sometimes. But, you had the ssn and maybe they just didn’t care about the expired I-94 that much. Having a ssn seems to be crucial from what I’m understanding
  3. Thank you for this! I will at least try this and see what they say
  4. Yes I read that Too that the 485 can’t be approved without 130. That’s why I was surprised the 485 says actively reviewing and the 130 is on just received. I wonder what happens after the 130 is approved and how much longer it takes after that. I also wanted to check timelines for 130 and 765 but out of all 6 or so options it offices I don’t even know where mines being processed. I know my local one but I know that’s only for the 485. I see Nebraska Texas California etc for the 130. So no idea where mines at (or will be at) maybe anybody reading on here as well knows how to answer those questions lets keep each other updated!
  5. Wow thank you for that, I did not know that! I just checked and it says 5 months as well. What state are you in? I’m in Florida. what happens when the I-130 is approved? Then they will go over to the next one, the I-485? So that processing time is not the actual estimate of when we finally get the greencard, right? 🧐
  6. That’s great! Where did you see that the processing time changed from 13 to 5 months? Is that yours specifically or are you talking about the LFOs general processing time?
  7. Wow that’s crazy. I heard that too with unexpired I-94. Mine is expired though so I guess my chance is gone either way. I know someone going trough same process and their lawyer told them with expired I-94 plus NOAs here In Florida is no problem to get DL. From what I read on vehicle place page that’s not accurate though and from what people say here on the forum it’s not accurate either. Anybody here who applied for aos this year and can share their experience on how it went after biometrics? Got ead approved the same day or waited for months? (If yes, how many months did you wait?) after my biometrics two weeks ago my status just changed to actively being reviewed.
  8. Got you. So, in my position right now: when will I be able to get a DL? With the SSN once it becomes available trough aos, with the EAD ( which usually happens way later after the SSN if I understood correctly) or with the GC once the wait time is over? and: does anyone have the current waiting times for ssn and ead? I read on the forum here 8-12 months. Is that correct?
  9. I’m so confused with all this. Online it says you can get a temporary licence for a year as a non immigrant. ( that is, with a non expired I 94 I suppose?) but I don’t know what I fall under while waiting for my aos to be approved and if it’s worth a try with the NOA and the expired I 94. regarding what you said: so if if do get my licence once I receive my ssn ( is that even possible ? Or do I get it with EAD?) it will only be good for the expiration date of that EAD? After that i would have to wait to get a new ead? I didn’t even know the EAD has an expiration date. It’s so hard to find clear information online and I can’t get ahold of anybody at the local office here.
  10. Yes that’s what I’m thinking. I read somewhere in Florida it’s three months, which is the length of an I 94. nevertheless for me it’s expired now, but I read somewhere here that in some states you can still go and show your I-94 plus NOAs and they’ll issue the licence under these circumstances. Just wasn’t sure if that applies for Florida too and if not, at what point could I finally get my licence ? After approval of aos or after I get an ssn
  11. That’s what it sounded like for me too. So I would have to wait until I get my SSN to do the licence? How was it for you guys adjusting? Or could you do your licence only once the whole AOS process was approved? That would be a very long time without being able to drive. Even the 8-12 months until SSN are long. I wish I knew before that I could have gone get a licence before my I-94 expired
  12. Hey, we are adjusting from esta in Florida. AOS has been send out a month ago and now waiting. Just realised I should have gone do my Florida licence before my I-94 was expired. Now it’s expired and I have my NOAs. For the life of god I can’t reach anybody at the vehicle place to answer my questions. Maybe someone here knows or is in Florida too: can I still do my Florida licence with an expired I-94 and showing the NOAs? The info online also varies: some say I can use my foreign licence in Florida for a year, others say only 3 months… if anybody could help I would appreciate it. I have an appointment with the vehicle place tomorrow but I don’t want to go and waste my time if they will deny me because of an expired I-94
  13. Nothing new. How about you? How did your biometric go and did your status change to actively being reviewed immediately after appointment?
  14. Did my biometrics yesterday and everything went smoothly. I-485 and I-765 are under active review now. Was hoping to see the status change to „card being produced“ (for the ead) soon after the biometrics, as I seen this on here alot of times, but in my case no luck so far. I also Had an rfe for birth certificate a few days ago ( although it was in the initial application) submitted a new one online and now waiting. How long did take for you guys after biometrics to get your ead?
  15. Yes that’s exactly what I initially thought. Cause it already comes in English and German so I thought ok perfect 😂 hummm. However I provided the same for my child, and no rfe on that one so far… maybe the really did lose mine .
  16. This is exactl what I got. It’s literally called „international BC“ … I get you though. I’ll go the safe way and just have the regular one translated into English. Thank you Yes there is. The headline is literally „international BC“ . Germany offers that.
  17. Thank you for this input. What exactly did you put on the cover letter? I’m pretty sure what I have is the only right thing to submit cause it’s an international BC with 3 different languages on there (one of them English) so it’s definitely good for international and it’s an official one from my home country Germany. So I think they really must have lost it or something
  18. Thank u. The country is Germany and the certificate is a specific international one with English translations already on there. I will check out the table
  19. Got an rfe for birth certificate for form I-485 which I definitely Included 3 times in total ( one for each form). Haven’t received the actual letter in the mail yet but saw the rfe was send out 2 days ago in my online account. Can I submit my answer online ( I’m seeing the option in my account there) or do I have to wait for the actual letter ? Do I just submit the same certificate again? Any ideas why I got an rfe ? The birth certificate was in English and definitely the correct one.
  20. Good to know, hopefully it’s faster than two years 🙏🏼
  21. Yeah, it’s Oakland park. Ok so then I know the waiting times . Wow that’s long long. If it really does take around 24 months it will be straight down to the 10 year GC I guess lol 🙃😅
  22. Hmmm ok I See. Yes Oakland park Florida... it’s our local field office apparently.I thought that’s where our interview would be at too cause this is the closest field office to me. But maybe I’m wrong.where do folks have their interviews? Just at those 4 or 5 mason offices ( Texas, California etc?) they are all far from where I am. How can i find out which office is responsible for my case though? I thought it was trough the receipt and case number but it’s IOE which apparently means electronic
  23. Yes I saw that here. Saw anything between 1-3 months so far for the biometrics. I still don’t understand the whole local field office thing though. Our local field office is Oakland park. That’s also we’re our biometrics is scheduled . But I can’t find a processing time for them. All I can choose to check processing times is Texas, California etc. our case number is IOE. Which office is responsible for my case so I can check processing times?
  24. Here! Application received by uscis on April 27th. Biometrics scheduled for may 24th! Looking for updates from other April filers too and wondering how long after biometrics for the forms to be processed ! Excited
