Verbal us visa approved
appleblossom replied to Passat1's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
I think you'll need to be more specific - what type of visa, and which consulate? Please fill in your VJ timeline. -
So the status just says ‘payment received’?
-
The OP is asking about her father's case, not an adopted child. NVC doesn't take that long to review documents. You can see their current processing times on their website, it's currently one week exactly. In the last 6 months the longest it's taken was 2 weeks. OP, if your father has a record of his lost passport, you can put that number in for now (it may just turn up anyway). Then you can update it once you get the new one. Good luck.

Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time-Part 2
appleblossom replied to Blueeyes1989's topic in Canada
No, just from knowledge and threads on VJ. Which other country do you reside in? I can't imagine anybody would have 'multiple residencies', maybe one other if they live between two countries. Where do you pay taxes? That's usually a good way to tell where you'd be considered resident by a government. -
Proving Residence for CRBA
appleblossom replied to PK_Bazm's topic in Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA)
What makes you say that, is it from personal experience at the Islamabad consulate? Their website says "both parents must attend the interview" so I think the OP should double check that advice. -
If a Welcome Letter is expected, it shouldn't take anywhere near that long. There is a processing page from NVC that gives exact timeframes, it's usually only a week or two, although has jumped up a bit recently. OP, what does your case status say when you check it, and when was your I-140 approved?

Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time-Part 2
appleblossom replied to Blueeyes1989's topic in Canada
It won't be an issue at all, but you might want to move your case to the other consulate if it would suit your timelines better. Most people would love to have the option to have their case processed somewhere other than Montreal! -
Could you please fill in your timeline as well to help other EB applicants? Thx.
-
No problem. What does the online status say when you check it?
-
No, the receipt numbers from when you paid their GC fees. The same receipt numbers you should use to track production and mailing of the cards. On the email receipt, it will say 'your payment was applied to the following cases', and then list them (assuming you paid all three fees in one go). They'll start with IOE.

Paris embassy Eb immigration visa timelines
appleblossom replied to pilot787's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
It varies hugely. Montreal is one of the longest, but so are other places like Islamabad, Lagos, etc. They can be 2 years or more, other countries are around a year (Ghana for example) and then others are only a month or so (London, Berlin etc). Rio is much longer than Paris, so that's why those people who were DQ'ed in April/May last year have been waiting so long. If your case has recently been transferred to Paris, then you should hear soon. Good luck. -
The stats are all there if you want to look. And it's obviously far higher than the 2500 figure you put above, but I assume that was a typo or a joke. But it doesn't really matter what which administration it is or the exact figures, bottom line is it's a very large number every year irregardless - and my point is just that personally, if it were an elderly relative of mine, I'd rather they went home and sorted the waiver, then hopefully came back legitimately, than risk them being deported when they are even older and infirm. But that's just my personal view and what I would do as I would hate to be forever dreading a knock on the door or panicking every time I saw a police officer. I couldn't live my life like that, but the OP and others may well feel differently and be prepared to take the risk.

If you look at last FY, and take off those with pending criminal charges or criminal convictions, it was 72k. https://www.ice.gov/spotlight/statistics My bad, it wasn't 80k just last month alone. Still enough that it would make me worry though. https://trac.syr.edu/immigration/quickfacts/eoir.html#:~:text=Out of 73%2C172 Immigration Court,39.1% percent of all cases. https://www.newsweek.com/map-shows-states-most-migrant-deportation-orders-1902529#:~:text=Latest Immigration Court records show, grown under the Biden administration. https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/immigration/court-ordered-migrant-removal-report/ Although actually, if it was my MIL, I think I may be phoning the ICE tip line myself. 😂

It sounds like they think the job offer/company isn't legit and you might move and then have no job. Your money from the sale of your house would presumably be used to buy a new one, so not sure that would count for much. It'll be interesting to see if the other guy gets refused for the same reason or not.

You haven't filled in your timeline on your profile, please do as it's hard to help without that info. You're asking about IR above, but in your other thread you're EB3 - which is it?
-
You are overthinking it again. Just tell the truth and put whatever the correct figure is.
-
As above, about a one year wait. Please fill in your timeline, thanks.
-
As above - what does your online status say when you put in the receipt number? No point in chasing it if they have been mailed and you need to take it up with USPS. Why are you selecting I-90? Have you actually filed an I-90? You should be choosing OS155A.
-
Then all you can do is wait and apply nearer the time, so that you can move back ahead of her - as Boiler said, maybe apply next year and then drag it out a bit so that her visa isn't issued until after you return in 2027. But keep an eye on processing times, as if they speed up you may prefer to wait until 2026 to apply. Good luck.
