  1. I meant your timeline on your profile - if you can fill that in that would be fab. Something doesn’t sound right if you’ve been waiting so long to be DQ’ed. What does it say on CEAC?
  2. 8 months is far too long, something is definitely not right. You should have had the green card within 90 days of either entering on the visa, or paying the green card fee, whichever was later. Is ‘wife’s address’ in the US? Where are you now? You can track the GC here using the receipt number, what does that say? https://egov.uscis.gov
  3. So if they think you’d be denied for immigrant intent then how exactly do they think you could do AOS anyway?! Honestly, they sound completely clueless and I’d get rid of them personally. If they think NVC will take a year and they’re telling you to risk a lifetime ban from the US then I wouldn’t trust anything they say. I traveled backwards and forwards for business many times whilst my immigrant visa was being processed, no issue at all.
  4. The visa on it's own isn't, but the endorsed visa acts as a temp green card for a year once you've entered on it (just had to clarify for anybody reading, didn't want them thinking they have a year to enter on the visa!). When did you enter? Or pay the green card fee if that was later?
  5. You shouldn't have to pay anywhere near that amount! I set up a new phone line with Mint mobile before I moved which was $15 a month I think. It's an e-SIM, so worked the moment I landed and activated it. Now I just toggle between my two lines on my phone depending on which country I'm in.
  6. Oh, that is odd, definitely not the norm. Are you sure you submitted everything required? And haven't been DQ'ed already, have you checked your spam/junk folder? Can you fill your timeline in as well pls? Thanks.
  7. You always need to add a week or two to the quoted NVC processing times, as it does take longer for mailed in docs (rather than uploaded as most do). How long have you been waiting?
  8. So you didn't petition her when you were a green card holder? It sounds like she will become a citizen, but you can double check that here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/us-citizenship/child-citizenship-act-of-2000.html Good luck.
  9. The Visa Bulletin, it's released once a month. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-june-2025.html
  10. How old is your child, where are you both now, and how did you get your citizenship?
  11. Up to 90 was but recently people are being told up to 120 days as there is a backlog. Please update your timeline, thx.
  12. Egypt is one of the countries that is possibly about to be restricted under the new country ban and would be considered a high risk country. AI isn't explicitly on the TAL list but only because it's not been updated in years, so I suspect it's a combination of both those things. Nothing to do but wait it out unfortunately, good luck.
  13. That’s a load of rubbish! You can point him to the NVC processing times page which set them out very clearly (and are usually pretty much spot on) - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html Its usually only 2-3 weeks, you do have to allow a bit of extra time for mailing docs rather than uploading but only an extra week or so. So I’ve got no idea where he’s got a year from. You can look at my timeline for my EB1A case via London. It was a couple of years ago but timelines haven’t changed since then. But more importantly, where are you right now? Because if you’re not in the US then AOS isn’t possible anyway.
  14. Is your occupation on the TAL list? Any links with high risk countries? There is no expected timeline I’m afraid. Admin Processing can take weeks, months or even years. It varies hugely by every case. Please fill your timeline in, thx.
  15. **Thread moved to Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas, as OP is hoping to adjust status**
  16. So IR2 or F2A? If he's 16 months then presumably that's why it's been waived - see the info on the link above.
  17. What kind of application is this and how old is your son? It would be super helpful if you filled in your timeline. Civil docs etc are listed here, so follow that exactly - make sure you use the country specific guidelines too. That will also explain which fees apply to your son. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html
  18. Hopefully the I-130 will be the longest stretch unless the OP is at a consulate with a big backlog for interview. NVC is the quickest/easiest bit, only a couple of weeks!
  19. Just checking, are you a citizen (or is your petitioner a citizen if you're the beneficiary)? Assuming so, then 17 months is the average processing time so you're still just under that - you can check on this link (scroll down to the bottom of the page) to find out when you'll be considered out of standard processing time and when you can submit an enquiry. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ I'm sure you'll hear soon, good luck.
  20. Oh that's good, you should have it very soon then.
  21. Yep, ignore it completely. Recently my daughter's case said '16 months to decision' and that was the day before she got her decision. Then on the day she was approved, it jumped up to '27 months to decision'. 😂
  22. That seems simple enough, and can't see why you'd need a contract, the third option would work? "Notorized letter with explanation of living arrangement".
  23. It's the usual tracking website, but just put your receipt number in rather than your case number - https://egov.uscis.gov What does that say?
  24. Once the I-130 is approved it is up to the beneficiaries to continue, they need to complete the DS-260's etc, and yes, it will be one for each of them. They will be sent instructions with the Welcome Letter, or they can follow the step by step process here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html
  25. You can check to make sure you're still within normal processing times here - https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ As long as you've not gone over that (I doubt it if it's only been 204 days) then try not to worry, you won't have been forgotten. Good luck, hope you hear soon.
