Time at NVC for a parent visa
appleblossom replied to Zaidba's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
As above, you should have heard quite a while ago. Current case creation timeline is about 2 weeks, so you should have had a Welcome Letter by now. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html -
Have a search around the forum and you'll see loads of other people are getting this message at the moment - seems to be a glitch.

The last, and no worries! Good luck, hope you don't have too long to wait. -

No email until you're DQ'ed (or they need more info/a missing document). -
We did pay for priority though, otherwise it would have been the standard timing. 😊

Oh fabulous - congrats! And thanks for updating, that's really useful. Seems like the end of the month for IL's from London so fingers crossed we'll be in the May batch. Thanks again. 😊

If you checked just once a day that's quite restrained I think. 😂 I'm about a month behind you (DQ'ed 21st April), although EB1 rather than spousal, so it'll be interesting to see when we get our IL. Possibly in the next batch, but there are so few EB applicants that it's hard to know what the wait is like. Looks like you're the only one on VJ to get an IL in this batch which has surprised me. Unless @Hetanshi got one too and hasn't had a chance to update?

Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)
appleblossom replied to snm2212's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Yep, current, so you're in the queue for an interview. How long it will take will depend on your consulate and the backlog, some have really lengthy queues and people can wait two years for an interview, others you'll get an interview within 6 weeks or so. Good luck! -
Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)

Not a problem all, it's only that my tiny middle aged brain can't cope with it otherwise. 😂 -

I haven't updated it, but I've just changed @Damiores dates around - he's used the UK format whereas the rest of us have used the US one, so makes it a bit hard to compare! Hope that was ok. -
April 2023 NVC Submission
appleblossom replied to chatgpt4's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
You won't get an IL until your PD is current unfortunately. The B dates mean that NVC will work on your case if your PD is before that date (which yours is), even though there's no immigrant visa available to you, as they know your PD will become current in the not too distant future. But then once DQ'ed, your case won't progress any further until your PD is before the date in table A and a visa is available. This explains it better than I can - https://www.boundless.com/immigration-resources/how-to-read-the-visa-bulletin/ Good luck, hope you don't have too long to wait. -
And just to add, your proof of address must be less than 12 months old, so you're fine to use the ones you've got. I've got the form and notes I can email you if it helps - just ping me a message with your email address. I did mine about a month ago, whilst the website was down, and it was just as efficient despite that. We had our certs back in 4 working days. Good luck.

All taxpayers are forced to pay for things that they may not want to support or will ever use themselves, that's just the nature of taxes. Each of us will have very different ideas of what we'll want our taxes to pay for, and we'll all have different priorities. I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on what should be a priority for us personally. 😊

I did, housed and financially supported 2 Ukrainian families fleeing war until they could get on their feet, find jobs and find houses. Which they did, and they're now making an amazing difference to their new communities. I'm in the fortunate position to be able to have done that, which I know not everybody is. But I do think every safe, secure and wealthy country has a responsibility to help those in desperate need personally.

How to bring Grandma to America
appleblossom replied to ilovepho's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Really tough and definitely a huge downside of moving to another country. If she does have the funds for EB-5, it might be worth looking at that? I've no idea if it would take 5 years though, but worth investigating just in case. Good luck. -

Unfortunately your Mom can't sponsor her Mom until she's a citizen. Until then maybe she can be the one to fly back and forth to visit? -
Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)
appleblossom replied to snm2212's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
I'm also EB1-A - ours just shows as 'completed' (we were DQ'ed last week). -

Yup, that's DQ. Afraid I can't help with CEAC as I don't have that on mine (EB1), but you're definitely DQ'ed judging on that email. Congrats, don't know how long the wait for an interview is at Kathmandu but hope it's not too long for you. -
EB2-NIW Waiting for Interview Letter in London 2023
appleblossom replied to OnPoint's topic in United Kingdom
@Luis M and @CMingo's PD's aren't current IIRC, so they won't have any IL yet unfortunately. I'm hoping that @OnPoint updates us all soon. Last lot of London IL's went out right at the end of March, so hopefully in a day or two there should be another batch, you might get an IL in that. Good luck. -
You can certainly ask, and it won't negatively affect your case in any way. But if your docs are being rejected then an expedite won't help with that. Might be worth starting a new thread giving details of the exact docs you've already provided and why they've been rejected, so that people can help you try and get DQ'ed instead, as once that is done the wait for an IL isn't long at all via London. Good luck.

Approx 14 days after submission going on current timescales (they’re updated weekly). https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html Good luck.
