Directly from the US. Mine is an MBA with a specialism in my career area, the approaches from headhunters from the US certainly increased once I had it. Everybody will have a bachelors degree so by having a masters it might just give you the edge over USC’s that don’t need sponsorship and can start immediately. IMO, no employer is going to sponsor you after only 3 years of post-grad work experience, you need to look at it as a longer term plan. So maybe have a few years off study, get your career started and then look at doing a masters (you could do it alongside working - I did) later on if you don’t have any luck finding a role in the US. Good luck.

Rio de Janeiro - DQed & Waiting for Interview Letter
appleblossom replied to JLVS22BR's topic in Work Visas
No worries. Last time I checked people DQ’ed in Jan 2022 were receiving IL’s,l for Montreal, so about an 18 month wait. But if you head to the Canada section you should find more info. Good luck. -
Don’t look at a masters for only shortening your visa processing time - it may also be the way to get an employer be prepared to sponsor you. I wouldn’t have been sponsored by my company without a masters. When a company can hire an American quickly, easily and cheaply, why would they spent lots of money and go through the time and hassle to hire you? You need to do whatever you can to make yourself stand out and make it worth their while to sponsor you. To be brutally honest, with just a bachelors degree and a few years experience it may not happen, look at it as a long term plan and a masters plus specialist experience might make that plan more viable. Good luck to you.

Rio de Janeiro - DQed & Waiting for Interview Letter

This thread is for applicants applying via Rio - search and you’ll find threads for Montreal applicants. It’s a very long wait for Montreal interviews IIRC. -
Interview appointment letter for visa medical [merged threads]
appleblossom replied to EthanB's topic in United Kingdom
We booked our medicals before we had the IL as we only had one possible week we could have the medicals done in. But just bear in mind you have to enter the US within 6 months of the medical, so don't have it done too early unless you'll be ready to move fairly soon after the interview. -
NVC Welcome Letter IR5
appleblossom replied to Arun87's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
It was only 12 days last month, now it's 34 days (and remember those are only averages). Presumably lots of staff are on summer holidays which has slowed things down. -
NVC Welcome Letter IR5
appleblossom replied to Arun87's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Processing times at NVC have lengthened recently, it's now over a month to receive the Welcome Letter. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html Hopefully you should hear any day now, good luck. -
My 18 year old daughter has a much more recent history of self harm, and was on Sertaline at the time of our medical. Neither were an issue at all and her visa was granted without anything further being required. We did make sure we took a letter from her doctor giving an overview of her history and including the all important wording about not being ‘a danger to herself or others’, which seemed to do the trick. Good luck.

Worth noting that it will depend on your visa route, if you’re not K-1 then you’ll wait for it to be scheduled for you.

Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)

Oh so sorry, just saw your PD. 😢 Not October then but I hope you don’t have to wait too long. Good luck. -
Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)
appleblossom replied to snm2212's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Yes! You might just have made the cut off for an IL this month, interview October maybe? Congrats. -
That is your Welcome Letter. You haven't said what visa you're applying for - the next step will depend on that.
-
It won't be scheduled until the date is current in Table A of the VB, and it's not current yet. I'm also not sure what you mean about the tourist visa, but the final action date was 22nd March 2007 in the September 2021 VB and is now 22nd April 2007, so it's only moved a month in nearly 2 years - it could still be a very long wait before they get an interview date.

Rio de Janeiro - DQed & Waiting for Interview Letter
appleblossom replied to JLVS22BR's topic in Work Visas
Do you mean DQ? If so, just scroll up and you'l find recent timeframes - most recent 125 days it would appear. But will depend on your visa category and PD too, if you can fill your timeline in it would be very helpful for forum members when you ask questions. -
As above, I don't really remember but it's just more in depth than the one you do in advance. Also asks about some other stuff i.e. you have to list dates and details of all hospitalisations.
-
Next month is very unlikely IMO, can't see it moving until the new fiscal year in October at the earliest. F2A retrogressed to October 2017 in the VB, so it's gone way back, all you can do is keep checking each month and see when it advances. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-august-2023.html I note that you've applied for naturalisation, not sure what stage you're at but you might want to hold off on that until your son has his case finalised. Good luck.
