12 years is ridiculously optimistic. Here’s this months VB, you can see the current date on it for that category is April 2007, so 16.5 years ago. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2024/visa-bulletin-for-october-2023.html But it’s not linear, that category doesn’t move much so don’t expect it to advance quickly - @Boiler said the other day that it’s only moved forward 1 month in the past 3 years. You can see all previous VB’s on the website to give you an idea. So at that rate you’re looking at a heck of a lot longer than 16.5 years, which is why you shouldn’t expect anything before 20 years or even far, far longer. Then add on the time it will take for your brother to sponsor his children and that’s potentially another decade or two - more if any of them are married by then and he he has to become a citizen first.

IV Fee processing confusion
appleblossom replied to hnguyen1991's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
It does mention it on the website, yours did go quite a bit over the week it says to allow before continuing on to the next step though. -
There's no money to pay for them now, there would only be a fee if a visa is available for them in many years. No chance for the children aged 10+ IMO, possibly a chance for the younger - but which country are they from? I assume your brother knows sponsoring his then adult children would also take a long time and there won't be any way of them all moving together?

OP hasn't been on the forum for 13 years, this is a really old thread! Would suggest you start a new thread if you have questions about interview questions.

Pregnant wife waiting for interview.
appleblossom replied to Speedy troy's topic in Middle East and North Africa
This thread may help - Even the quickest consulate is about 3 months from DQ to interview date, so I think you'll need to be prepared to fly to her for the birth. Good luck. -
INTERVIEW LETTER
appleblossom replied to NeeNe's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
OK, so if IR1 then should be about a year. If you search the forum you'll find lots of threads with info on, here's a very recent one - Good luck. -
INTERVIEW LETTER
appleblossom replied to NeeNe's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Usually around a year, but which visa category and what is your Priority Date? -
Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary? What are you trying to expedite and for what reason? Your timeline says your I-130 was approved nearly a year ago, and your previous post says USCIS said they never received a I-824 so it's not clear what stage you're at or what you're asking about. If you can give people more info then they can try and help.

Miscellaneous questions for UK immigrants to the USA with K1
appleblossom replied to Dragonsarereal's topic in United Kingdom
No. It must be the ACRO cert, a DBS check won't be accepted. And just FYI on the blood being taken, it doesn't sound as though you'll need to if your daughter is 16. They only do blood tests on those aged 18-24. My 18 year old daughter was most miffed that she was the only one out of all of us that had to have it done! So you'll need vaccinations I assume, but no blood test. I sympathise, I hate needles too, and needed several vaccinations to pass the medical, ugh. Do also make sure you check in to what vaccinations your daughter will need to go to school in the US, most districts have a list of them and she won't be allowed to go to school without them (or without a waiver). -
Interview letter
appleblossom replied to DamiOrire's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
For Nigeria? About 12-15 months IIRC, but you can search for timelines or threads to give you a better idea. Good luck. -
Weirdly, that person said earlier in the thread that their NOA2 came in August (https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/745299-ciudad-juarez-interviews/?do=findComment&comment=10778518), so 7 months between that and interview which is why I thought it had got quicker. Not sure why they said October as well, or which is correct though. 🤷♀️

Top tip - click on the OP's Timeline to see details of their processing. This thread may also be useful, looks like it's sped up a lot recently as the most recent K1 on it had a much longer wait - HTH.

Miscellaneous questions for UK immigrants to the USA with K1
appleblossom replied to Dragonsarereal's topic in United Kingdom
Odd, I didn't get that when we all had ours earlier this year, mine didn't say that bit. Looks like that's very out of date, says 2016 on it. Perhaps they used to do it back then but not the case now - unless they have a concern I guess? -
And when are they eligible to apply for citizenship? It would be a long route but worth doing as back up in case you can't find a job/sponsor. What does your husband do for a living, is there any more likely employment based route for him maybe?
-
I see it, thanks. Definitely not right, just wrong info input somewhere probably. As above, there is no visa available to an F2B applicant with a 2020 PD by law so it can't be right. Edit: found the timeline, if you look at the forum member's profile they actually applied under IR2, hence the processing time.
