    No way of knowing as nobody can accurate predict how it may move in the future. But you can use the current bulletin to give you an idea of how long people have waited in the past - about 3 years. Then after that it will depend on the consulate and how long the wait for an interview is there. How old is the child? If they age out in to F2B it's a much longer wait.

    There's no physical letter sent, just the email. That will have full details of all of the documents they need to take on it. You can request an interpreter but they usually provide immigration officers who speak the native languages. What language do your parents speak?

    Starling are brilliant, and had no issue with me moving to the US either. So easy to deal with. It might be worth you getting a new phone now so you can set your US number up before you go, I found that much easier and was one less thing to do after the move at least! Best of luck.

    No need to switch SIM cards if you have a phone that will take an eSIM, you just have both lines active on your phone and can use either. But you mention a Starling account that you plan to keep, so shouldn't need to text anyway. I kept my Starling accounts (x 3), and have never needed any texts.

    If asked (he may not be) then he tells them the truth. You've not answered the questions above, did you ever see proof that he had the interview scheduled? What does his online status say?

    You can apply in as many categories as you like. But if you're F2B then how old are you? Have you aged out of the F4 application or is that still viable? If so, I don't really see the point of applying under F2B as well as the F4 should be much quicker.

    100 days for AP isn't unreasonable, particularly if you are from a country where background checks take much longer. But yes, you can file one anytime - just be aware that the case may be dismissed if the judge feels it has been filed too soon, so you would need to work out if you're prepared to risk losing the money.

    Can any of those relatives petition you instead of your parent? It would take longer but as said above, if she doesn't want to move to the US but you do then you'll need to look at other options.

    Please hit the quote button or tag me so I get notified if you have a question for me, I only saw this by chance. It's taken you 8 years to get your EB1 approved?! Or am I misunderstanding? That doesn't sound right at all. No idea why your attorney would say that. It's nowhere near that long via London, and by the time you've got your L1 sorted you're likely to have your immigration visa already.

    When were they DQ'ed? That's the critical date.

    Hard to say without exact dates but I agree with the above, highly unlikely that the child will qualify for a visa. But all you can do is wait and see how long it takes for the PD to become current.

    How long did the I-130 take to be approved and how old is the child?

    It may do, once the Diversity Visa/student visa rush is over. My timeline was quicker than that BTW - now it's 3-4 months. So still one of the quickest consulates around. Looks like your PD isn't current yet anyway? So hopefully by the time there is a visa available to you it'll have speeded up again. Good luck.

    Think you've posted this on the wrong thread! The OP hasn't had his/her interview yet. Do you mean DS-5535 though? The time for that varies hugely depending on the reasons for it. @EB1Aspirant, I was an EB1A applicant last year, back then it was approx 2 months for DQ to interview date, now it's a bit longer due to the summer backlog. But it's about the same as spouse visas, so maybe 3-4 months or so?

    Most people would advise you don't book tickets until you have a visa in hand. You will need a return ticket when you try to enter on that visa though. And you certainly shouldn't buy a 'dummy ticket', that would be fraud. I would buy a flexible return ticket personally.

    The process time is up to you - if you submit your documents quickly or not. Interview wait once DQ'ed is long in Islamabad. I'd expect at least a year, possibly as much as two years if the backlog is still lengthy. A search of the forum will show you recent timescales. You'll know at the time if it was successful or not, but extra checks are common in Islamabad so it's possible that even if you're told it's successful, somebody else will decide more checks need to be done before a visa is issued. 6 months from the date of your medical. HTH.

    What phone do you have? If it's fairly new (iPhone 12 or newer for example), then you can have a physical SIM and an eSIM. I have both and have each number on all the time so I can get texts/calls to both, but I switch the data between them depending on which country I'm in. My plan is SIM only, with Smarty for the UK (the physical SIM - which I'd had for a couple of years before I left the UK, and just turned down to less data when I left, on a month rolling contract), and ditto with Mint Mobile for the US (the eSIM - set up before I left the UK so I had the number to give to people before I moved). Both work brilliantly.

    That's good, no aging out to worry about at least! Don't suppose she'll be able to apply for citizenship anytime soon? It would speed things up a lot if she were a USC.

    And then it will switch to 'taking longer than expected' at some point too. Honestly, it's utterly useless and I don't know why they bother, it just causes people stress.

    For EB3, no job offer = no visa. Why does your employer not have a job? After they've spent all the money and time to petition you? If they aren't going to have a job for you, then yes, you'd need to start all over again.

    That's perfectly normal - best to completely ignore the predicted time on your account as it's notoriously inaccurate! Best of luck.
