They should have flagged that to you. Ours sent us a really comprehensive overview with lists, document examples etc, so we knew exactly what was required when we were compiling our docs. And if they didn't even clarify what type of police cert you needed, it would worry me what else they'd missed tbh. Maybe stick with VJ instead of lawyers! 😂

OK, so issued definitely means the visa has been granted and has been put in the passport - I wondered if perhaps they'd been put in to AP so that's good. As Boiler has said, 3 days doesn't include the consulate time for approving and printing, just for the sending back of the passport, it's usually about 2 weeks in total.

Annoying as hell, I agree. I thought you have a lawyer doing your app? If so I'd complain to them, it's their responsibility to make sure you submit everything needed, so I'm really surprised they didn't pick up on it being the wrong one.

Ah, ok. So it’s only been 2 weeks since you submitted your docs (the clock only starts ticking when they have all the right ones), not 2.5 months. That makes more sense! Add on a week or so for you posting it rather than uploading it, and that means you should get DQ’ed very soon. Good luck.

Current processing for unmarried children of LPR’s is for those with Priority Dates of Sept 2015, so over 8 years ago. But it’s not linear, it’s been on the same date and hasn’t moved at all for over a year. So given how slow it can go, I’d be prepared for a lot longer (my 10 year guess above is likely to be on the optimistic side) - ditto sibling sponsorship, the current 16.5 yrs isn’t likely for anybody applying in the future, that timeline will only go up.

As above, H1-B is a lottery so a long shot, your lawyer would need to be prepared to apply as soon as the program opens (April I think?). If lucky enough to be selected (pretty long odds) they'd then be able to start in October 2024, so are you happy to wait a year for them to be able to start work, or do you need someone sooner? If you can wait, it might be worth looking at EB immigrant visas instead? The L1 only works if you have a practice/office in the country they're in to transfer them from and keep running once they've moved, which doesn't sound like it's the case? OK, so let's assume you get citizenship in a year or so, then sponsor your parents. Not sure which country they're in, but it's currently around 2 years to sponsor parents for most countries, so your parents may get PR mid 2026 to mid 2027 as a very rough guide. Figure a 10 year wait for your brother to be sponsored by them from that point (again, a very rough guide as nobody knows how things will change between now and then or how much the backlog will grow by). So he'll need to either be prepared to leave the US to wait, or to find another visa option to stay in the US for that time. And I'd strongly suggest you also apply to sponsor him as soon as you've got citizenship as well, as a back up plan just in case. That will probably take longer than it would for your parents to sponsor him, but at least then he could marry if he wants to.

You're reading it right, you will be eligible to complete the NVC side of things when invited to do so (i.e. submit your docs, pay your fees, and submit your DS-260). You'll then be DQ'ed but have to wait a few years for your PD to become current to then be invited for an interview. Good luck.

If he's almost 20 and you haven't applied for your parents yet, then even with an expedite he's unlikely to have his app processed in time. And as above, that's not grounds for an expedite anyway, so I'd assume he'll be around 22 by the time your parents can apply for him, possibly 23 or 24 as it seems you've only just applied for citizenship a couple of weeks ago? When does his F1 expire?

Not sure why you think you need your medical results?? Those are only sent to the consulate, and you wouldn't have your visa if that hadn't been done. You have your visa, and it's clear from what's written on it that you don't need to carry anything with you. It's all electronic these days for spousal applicants, anything you've read referring to a packet being carried is either very outdated or for another visa type. IV DOCS IN CCD means all of your documents have already been transmitted electronically. CCD stands for Consular Consolidated Database.

As said above, it doesn't sound like your father has spent the required time in the US to pass his citizenship on to his children (5 yrs +, but at least 2 years of that must be after the age of 14). Essentially, unless your father is planning on moving to the US (to then sponsor you) you don't have any advantage over anybody else without any family connections there. You've been given a good overview of all the visa options above, although the DV lottery may not be an option for UK citizens next year, that's a wait and see thing though. But make sure you leave before your 90 days is up, ideally before day 85 ish, just in case of any complications - I recall the famous 'ash cloud' of Iceland in 2010 that meant all flights were cancelled for days. Unlikely to happen again but you never know! Whatever you do, you don't want to overstay as that could really impact your future plans. And I'd advise against applying for a B2, highly unlikely to be granted if you're not of retirement age and you have access to the VWP, and if you have a visa refused you'll then scupper your chances to visit on the VWP for quite some time too. It's just not something I'd risk personally. Good luck.

You have asked this question many times over the years and been given the same answer each time, might be worth going back and having another read of your previous threads? Nothing has changed. As you were advised back in 2015, she cannot go on a visitor visa with the intent to stay permanently, that's immigration fraud. So you need to apply for a spousal visa and then she can move once she has that.

Applying for a visa and seeking admission are two different things - the latter would be when you enter the US on your visa.

Did you manage to get your category changed to F1, or are you still F3? If the latter then your PD is a long way off being current. And if you have got the category changed recently, then that means you’ve only just been added to the queue for an interview, and it’s a long wait at Lagos. So either way you’ve still got quite a wait ahead of you I think.

Afraid I’ve no idea on the requirements for tax returns etc as mine was an employment based app so I didn’t need any of that. But have you had an email telling you you’re documentarily complete, that your file is being transferred to London and that you’ll be scheduled for an interview? That’s the DQ email. Just checking, but you’ve paid the fees and completed the DS-260? What does your actual CEAC status say?

So you haven’t actually been DQ’ed then, you need to submit what they’re asking for and then hopefully you’ll get DQ’ed (you’ll get an email when you are). Then it’ll be 2-3 months from that point to interview.
